CHAPTER-1
INTRODUCTION
The present project work proposes to make a critical, comparative and systematic study of concepts of Humanistic Approach of Counselling. This project makes an attempt to study the concept and attempted by some different world famous Indian personalities those who are thinkers, philosophers, sociologist, social reformer, religious, poet, psychologist, and philanthropist.
This type of study is most urgent, necessary and fruitful in at present critical situation because due to the drastic dramatic quick change in the socio economic condition in the society. The family becomes big to small, small to mini, mini to micro, micro to nano, and nano to alone ‘I’. At the same time change is also observed in the thinking power of the person. Everybody in such situation feels insecure particularity the old age person i.e. senior citizen and children. People forget their duties and responsibilities to their parents, family and society and involved with illegal, criminal, mischievous and notorious works. Eve teasing, molestation, murder, rape, acid attack increase drastically and dramatically within a few years, and also increasing day by day. The provocation from political leaders and Parliamentarians creates a typical situation and there no punishment. These MPs are enjoying all facilities and most are shame less. One statistic published from Parliament can answer so many things, how the shameless M.P snatching bloods of poor (um-janta) like leech. Criminalization in the politics accelerates such adverse situation. Not only that the affection of materials which are easily available to the teen agers like TV, mobile, net book, laptop etc criticized the situation. The western effect of internet completely confused spoil and depraved the young generation and more or less entire society of student is in aberration and morbidity. Virtuous infant particularly the baby, daughter are covetousness of venery. Young boys and girls of underage enjoying sex openly as a guy, lesbian and also in the system of live together. Most of the youth at present situation aimless, jobless, guardianless, no social security but beckon of hues pornography is enough to destroyed the nation. In such critical situation the role of Govt. is like as Jagannath, because all are ullus (owls), and regarding such leader’s Pakistani poet Iqbal written a shayari as follows:
“Barbadey gulistha aki ullu kaphi hay
har sakes par ullu baitha
unjaney gulistha kya hoga.”
[To destroy a garden one owl is enough, but here owls are sitting on each branch of every tree, therefore, what will be the future of the garden!]
In our country so many ullus are in top position controlling country. Therefore, future of country is big zero. So people have to take measures protection himself otherwise nobody will be responsible for that. Therefore, when adverse situation arise person concern have to take measures timely and have to move to counsellor for counseling, otherwise anything can be happened at any time. According to medical science ‘prevention is better than cure’. We the Indian people very much proud that so many wise, thinkers, says and saints, philosophers born in our ‘devo bhumi’ and time to time through their sermon, works, sacrifice protect us from all evils and whole world depended upon India time to time.
The project work will discuss some Indian famous counsellors like Goutam Buddha, Guru Nanak, Chaitanya, Ramakrishna Paramhansha, Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore. Their works, sermon and writings like poemes articles, songs etc which will help us as a medicine to improve our mental health and prevent from any psychosomatic problems.
In counselling, the counsellor must have some criteria like high inner vision (intuition), he must be a humanist, high judgmental power i.e., good tract and judgmental power i.e., power to critically analyses the matter with reasons with high philosophical thought.
The present project works is comprised of 7 chapters. The 1st Introductory chapter represents in brief about necessity of humanistic approach of counselling and relation with the goal of human life. The 2nd chapter deals with the Humanism, humanistic approach, intuition, religion, Religion of Man and thoughts of different philosophers, thinkers and wises. The 3rd chapter deals with counseling, critical situation and relief to the society. The 4th chapter deals with practical approach and return of results. The 5th chapter deals with horoscope of some renowned Indians counsellor and conclusion. The 6th chapter deals with Life Style Management – suggestion and recommendation to deal proper life style in their daily life for betterment. The 7th chapter deals with Humanistic approach of counselling and my personal experience (as an Astrologer).
I wish to convey my heart-felt reverence, deep and sincere gratitude to my respected teacher as well as Course Director of Post Graduate Diploma Course In Counselling, 2015 2nd Batch, LASWBE Dr. Jibananda Goswami and Asst. Director beloved didi Smt. Kathakali Goswami for their valuable sympathetic suggestions, guidance, sustained interest, help, advice and encouragement to complete the project work. I am also grateful to all my teachers of this course for their valuable teaching, information and knowledge. I am also grateful to my beloved father-in-law as well as Astrological Guru Dr. Saradindu Chanda (Ramanuj) under whom I read my first lesson about Astrology in Gurukul System and continuously engaged in counselling for last 25 years with the help of Astrology. DIFFERENT PHILOSOPHERS,THINKERS AND WISES
According to ‘History’ the ideology of great man is continuing generation by generation through men. The great men have represented themselves through the history of men. This thought was symbolized as ‘Maha-Manab’ by Nobel awarded Rabindranath Tagore.
In the Gita it has been expressed that ‘Dharma Sansthapthanathya Sambhabhami Jugey Jugey’ The violation of human rights-‘humanism’ has been observed from the very age old time, when man became civilize. During the time of ‘Treta’ Ramchandra, the great king of Ayodhya violated the humanism during the time of were between Bali and Sugriv. Next, in the ‘Dapara’, Lord Krishna also violated the basic norms of humanism at the battlefield during the time ware of Mahabharata. The violation of humanism observed maximum during ‘Kali Jugo (era)’, particularly during 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th century. In 19th century, the doctrine of humanism of French philosopher Auguste Comte was very popular throughout the world. In place of God, he places humanism. *1 The view about humanism by Comte is not point of discussion. The viewpoint is to discuss about the humanistic approach of counseling.
Now first question arise what is humanism? And who is humanist? What are the minimum criteria for a person that he may be recognized as a humanist?
The word ‘Humanism’ comes from ‘Latin’ world ‘Humanitas’, which means to search the perfection of one self. It always inspires to raise oneself, strength.
About humanism Dr. S. Radhakrishnan expressed his views that “God is Supreme revolutionary. He is the master builder and so we are the servants of God, we must work for truth, for the truth which means the establishment of right relationships between man and man, community and community nation and nation.”*2
Human relationships are the mainspring of spiritual life. Man worships his God in all the true objects of man’s worship. Through love, man can understand others and realize the supreme in the heart of him.
Humanism related with the religion of man. About the Religion of Man - Prabhat Kumar Mukharjee express as his views in that way “We have heard Hindu’s religion, Muslim’s religion, Christian’s religion… … Generally, we define the ‘man’ in terms of cast or nationality - Brahman, Vaishya, Sudra – or blacksmith, potter, weaver and we know the nationality - as English, Russian, Japanese, Chinese, Generally people are habituated to this culture. Sometimes some great man, sages have come within us and hit on such ignorance and have told about the universal man, who do not belong to any caste.”*3
The word ‘Religion’ comes from the Latin word ‘Religo’. It comes from religare (re-ligare = to bind back), i.e. who tightly bind together that is religion. In English ‘ligate’ means ‘tie up’. In Sanskrit ‘Dharma’ come from the world ‘Dhri’ and means, which grasp the whole.
The science does not mean the science of English, science of French, science of India; science is the science wherever it may be. In this way Dharma (religion) means man’s dharma or man’s religion. It never be the separate religion. If any special religion, which hits the man’s religion then it, must be clear that he is hindering the truth the untruth is functioning in intrigue, which is evil, and this is death. The religion of modern age is the ‘Religion of Man’, which called ‘Humanism’. *4
According to S. Radhakrishnan, “Philosophy fails of its purpose and is unfaithful to its ideal if it assumes that particular religious beliefs should be accepted.” *4
Generally we called the religion as ‘Dharma’. ‘Dharma’ means perception’ or ‘perceptual realisation’. In other words, we can define it as ‘immediate awareness’ or ‘to see God face to face’. In West, philosophy is dependent on intellectual knowledge. But in East particularly in India, it is intuitive knowledge. This intuitive knowledge is one kind of modification of the intellectual knowledge.
Man’s philosophy is dependent upon his thinking of life and realization of ‘Universal Truth’. The truth is beauty and beauty is truth. Man is the worshiper of such truth. This truth has a universal picture. Therefore, ‘Inner Universal Truth’ is the man’s religion. Humanism is the religion of every man. Therefore, as a subject ‘Religion of Man’ and ‘Humanism’ is more or less same, because religion of man is not a specific religion but it is based on humanism.
About the religion and humanism the great humanist Rabindranath Tagore express his views by given a nice example-“ Animal’s nature e.g., its livelihood is its religion. But in case of human beings, livelihood can never be the only his nature, humanity is his main characteristic. So ‘Inner Universal Truth’ is man’s religion.”*5
Humanism is clearly revealed universality and sense of identify with all men, and revolt against all types of tyranny and injustice. Life is its fullness, in its exaltation of the human reason and the luminous quality of his faith and above all, in respect for the human personality is heading towards completion.
Religion should never be based upon the Koran or the Puran, the Vedas or the Upanishad, the Bible or the Tripitaka, Granthasab or Gita, etc, it is on humanism. Religion of any person should be based on the man’s religion, not at the outside orbit of man. So religion should be centralizes on humanism and it must be root of man’s life. There is no higher religion than that of sympathy for all that lives. Love is the foundation of all religions.
Every person possesses a special something, which he calls ‘his religion’. A man’s religion does not consist of blind beliefs that obstruct our comprehension; rather, it is as man’s innermost truth, a creative force, a life-sense, greater than his materials sense.
Every man possesses a religious though. The main nature of the religion is non-material approach. Love, kindness, ahimsa all positive characteristics consist in the religion. Practically, religion is a universal power, which is related with finite and infinite, matter and consciousness. It is one kind of manifestation of soul, which is birth less, deathless and universal. There is no binding in the religion of man and humanism. Religion relates finite soul with the infinite soul and it washes out all the evils of main’s heart. That’s why it makes a man a ‘God man’.
Beauty and truth are related with religion and humanism. If we do not love the truth, then it is not possible for us to adopt it. We cannot bind the truth with any artificial binding. Ideal life is related with truthfulness and ‘Dharma’ is not beyond these characteristics. The idea of religion is not the same as like the traditional idea that possess by the common people. Human nature is the human religion. The real meaning of religion is the ‘nature’ or ‘characteristic’ of a thing. For example, the nature of fire is its heat and power of burning, the nature of water is to wet. In the same way, the nature of good religion is to do well to others and that of a bad religion is to do harm to others. The nature of selfishness is to express one’s love centering round oneself only, whereas the nature of benevolence is to express love for others.
About the humanism the famous Bengali poet Chandidas expressed his views in this way:
‘Sunoho Manush Bhai (শুনহ মানুষ ভাই)
Sabar Uporey Masush Satya (সবার উপরে মানুষ সত্য)
Tahar Uporey Nai.’(তাহার উপরে নাই)
The theory of humanism is observed in every religion but sometimes the application on the society or the society or upon the ‘Human-Beings’ by powerful persons in their own way, which they demand the religion of that cast, society etc. But actually this is not the true religion this may be said as dogma. Rabindranath expresses his view is that way-‘…………The felling of man is not equal everywhere and in some where it is prevent and for that all man are till not recognized as a real man’. The Vaishnava and Baul, Sufi and Fakir, Sant strictly followed the rules of humanism. Of them there is no any sadhana except Baul in the human society in our world who strictly followed, obey and respect the humanism, and for that there is no conflict and clashed between the Baul and other people of different religions, although there is a conflict and clashed between and among the other religions.
The inhumanity within a man arise when he thinks in his mind and draws a difference between worshiper and himself, and man and God, and ultimately man and man. Rabindranath express his views in the Manusher Dharma is this way-“A worshipper of God is no better than a beast if he worships such God whose entity is quite different from the entity of the worshipper; because such imagination of God leads the worshipper to get himself chained by narrow outlook of life. His own created God drive him out from his own entity.’’*6
In their songs, the Baul express their realization of God in the same way as sages in the ‘Upanishads’ did; Rabindranath expressed his cogitation in his Hibbert Lecture, ‘The Religion of Man’. In the typed manuscript of ‘The Religion of Man’, a few lines of the Baul song (in Bengali) were jotted down by his own handwriting where the main theory of humanism is hidden. (Annexure-I)
“যেমন ভাবন তেমনি ভূবন
ভাবে ভবে মাখা মাখি ।
মানুষ নইলে কোথায় দাঁড়ায়,
অচেতনে সবই হারায়
যখন মিলবে সাড়া তোর সে সাড়ায়,
বুঝবি তখন পাকাপাকি ।‘’
“The world is as it is in our thought; the thought and existence are commingled. Everything would be lost in unconsciousness if may ware naught, and when response come to your own call you know the meaning of reality.”*7
The theory of humanism of Baul is also somewhat analogy with the philosophy, religion and humanism of Jainism.
In the Jain religion and philosophy, it is said that different persons old the views of the ‘Absolute Truth Theory’, from different aspects, but the deduction of each individual’s view carries some sort of truth. This very view of the philosophy of the Jain religion is found to be in harmony with that of great humanist Rabindranath, where he states that he also does not view the God as separate entity from that of him. “The lover seeks his own other self in his beloved.”* 8. Tagore carries this truth in his various writings. These are the components of identify in the philosophy, religion and humanism. The difficulty lies in these circumstances, so it is how to present this spiritual cogitation of Tagore methodically.
By developing such theory day after day, year after year, how, why and when it has been stopped - a short answer of this question can be found from the jest of the closed door conference between the great humanist famous Scientist Albert Einstein and Noble awarded Poet Rabindranath Tagore just after the Hibbert Lecture on dated 19th May, 21st May & 25th May 1930 at the Arlosh Hall, Manchester College, Oxford, England, which is as follows:
Tagore said, ‘When our universe is in harmony with man, the eternal, we know it as truth we fell it as beauty.’
Einstein answered ‘This is a purely human concept of the universe.’
Rabindranath added in, ‘There can be no other conception. This world is a human world; the scientific view of it is also that of the scientific man.’
‘…………… if there be some truth which has no sensuous or relation to the human mind it will ever remain as nothing so long as we remain as human beings.’
A person in the world where he belongs to any cast and/or creed may be classified into two groups whether he is human or inhuman. Every man has it’s own religion. Such as Rabindranath has ‘Poet religion’, Ramkrishna has ‘Deb/Purahit religion’, Newton and Einstein have ‘Scientist religion’, Mussolini and Hitler have ‘Warrior religion, Chaitanya has ‘Vedantic religion’, Lord Krishna has ‘Political religion’. But they must be either human or not human (inhuman) in their character. So either humanity must be analysis properly (through the help of astrology by analysis of horoscope and analysed properly).
The role of man in the society is different; he sometimes shows humanity and sometimes inhumanity in his short span in his life. For example, the great Empire Ashok in his life, at the early period he was a most inhuman person, but after the Kalinga War humanity developed in his mind and he become a great man. Reverse case also been seen in the so many persons mainly engaged in the different works particularly like politics and power. That also depends upon the dasa bhukti of the native. But as a whole when we go through the birth chart at a glance we can say that whether a person is human or inhuman.
“To kill the enemy is the religion of life, by overcoming this, man says, ‘to forgive the enemy’, which is unexpected. This is detrimental for the religion of life but enrichment of humanism.”*9
CHAPTER-3
COUNSELLING
In the Concise Dictionary (9th Edition) the word counseling having tow definitions have been observed, which appear to be conflicting, adding to potential confusion; “give advice to (a person) on social or personal problems, spatially professionally In.’’ And “the process of assisting and guiding client, especially by a trained person on a professional basis, to resolve especially personal, social, or psychological problem and difficulties.’’
Among the different counselor the western counselor Carl Rogers (1902-1987) developed an approach to counselling called the Person Centred Approach. Counselling is required to the person concern who is not in normal stage to save and protect the person in normal life it is a proper step to save from any danger. A person avoid counselling may or may not be in proper social life and may or may not be danger himself and do any work which is harmful to him or to the others at any movement, and for that it may be harmful to the nation.
Counselling done by different organisations like social organisation, religious institute, NGO, club, school, college university and any other educational institution, Govt. organisation like office, deffence; but when the counselling done by any orthodox, terrorist like organisation then it become dangerous not only to the person concerned it becomes dangerous to the nation and also to the Human Being. Some recent incidents in India and the neighboring countries prove that how much dangerous these organisations are. First if the Mahatma Gandhi case be considered it will be found that murderer before murdering Mahatma was motivated and counseled by some people those who are attached with an organisation which believed in some thought of extreme. Secondly, the murder case of Smt. Indira Gandhi murderers belongs to a part of religion of orthodox. Again, in case of murder of Rajiv Gandhi the group of murderer was trained by their counsellor motivator. All these organisations have teachers, courses everything and they are parallel organisation of Govt. Sometimes their activity is more than Govt. organisation and institute. Even also these terrorist organisations have sophisticated scientific laboratory and well educated resources persons. The very recent incident at Khagragarh, Bardwan, W. B. proves the fact. The most interesting fact is when the two terrorists were dying then their wives were busy to destroying the confidential papers, documents and while public was trying to rescue the victims, their wives prevented them from entering the room. It is clear that these two women are fully inhuman in nature and this type of behavior is unexpected from a normal person. This behavior shown by these women is the result of rigorous training imparted by their teachers of that orthodox ideology who counselled them to do any mischievous works easily and normally without any hesitation and compunction. This is another type of counselling, done successfully by the terrorists.
‘To forgive the enemy, ‘this word is harmful for jib dharma (Religion of Life) but excellence for manab dharma (Human Being).*10 ‘‘The grace of atma can never be gauged, you can tell how many foes you have killed, but how many forgive can never be gauged.’’*11 Prof Khitimohan Sen in his writings “Madhya Juger Sadhner Dhara” express some lines of kobi Rajabba.
‘Sab sach miloi so sanch holo na so jhut
Jon Rajabba anchi kohi bhabai rahi bhabi root’*12
(It is truth which union with all truth, and not dirimilarily discord is false, Rajabba said this is so pure that either you may pleased or you may be angry.)
Body can be purified through water but mind through truth. One day Brahman Guru Ramdas go away from his pupil and embracing ferocious Nava, Muslim Mohammedan weaver Kavir, tanner Rabidas, on that day society outcaste him but at that movement he himself uplifted to the state of big society of universe i.e., Humanist. Ramdas alone hit the base of the orthodox society removing all evil from mind. When impure things, dust or any garbage removed from mind then it will be free. To remove load from mind of counsellee and given relief is the first duty of the counsellor. Therefore, Guru Ramdas was not only a great Humanist but also a good counsellor.
CHAPTER-4
PRACTICAL APPROACH AND RETURN OF RESULTS
(Case Studies by some Indian Humanist Counsellors)
Our dharma shastra teaches us that during the time war, who is not in chariot and who is on contact with the earth, the opposite charioteer who is in the battlefield will never through his weapons to kill his opponent party or an opposer. But this was not happened in case of ware of the Mahabharata where Lord Krishna advised, irritate and aggravate, insist Arjuna to thrown his weapons to killed Karna, when chariot of Karna was failed in the mud, and he was not in chariot and became perplexity and aghast and was trying to remove the wheel of chariot from the muddy soil. At that time Arjuna with the advice of Krishna thrown his arms and weapons to killed Karna and Karna lost his life.
In our shastra it is advice to all of us that not to kill who are not participating in the war, which is in sorrow. Lord Krishna irritates Arjuna to killed Mahatma Vishma who left his arms in the battlefield. Not only that he was also advised to killed Dronacharya, who was in sorrow hearing the news that his son Aswathama died in the battle field as declared by Judhisthir, that ‘Aswathama Hata Iti Go-jo’ with the advice of Lord Krishna. Therefore, from our civic and commonsense we can never say that Lord Krishna violet the rules of humanism.
In our dharma shastra it is advised not to throw your arms and weapons to kill other who is in the battlefield not with you but with others.
In the Treta Yuga, Lord Ramchandra who was the 3rd person, in the war between the Bali and his younger brother Sugriv, throw his arms to killed Bali which is not only the violation of the rules of war but also against the dharma shastra and humanism. So, it indicates the inhumanity of Lord Ramchandra. What Ramchandra did only for his wife Sita who was under Ravana at Lanka during that time, this type of work proves not only the selfishness of Ramchandra but also express the inhumanity.
“The spiritual Astrology teaches us that the saints and the seers, the wise and the mystic can rule their stars, the ordinary people obey them” (Astrology – X Royed, P-50). Jataka (Lord Ram) was unable to rule his stars, so we can’t say him as an extra ordinary person. He unable to overcome his ‘Dhira Karma’ and he behaves not human (inhuman) in nature for some times. The great poet William Shakespeare what he has written is absolutely true.
“It is the stars the stars above us
Govern our conditions”.
‘Love is the religion of hero and violence is the religion of terrorist, coward and villain. The main recognition of the man is that he is a creator’. But neither the Hitler nor the Mussolini was never be a creator but they are destructor and inhuman in nature. And for that they were violated all human rights and abuse their power to profane humankind and for that they killed many people and through their violence and the whole world became restless.
In this connection the last discussion between the great humanists Nobel awarded Rabindranath Tagore and Mussolini at Rome on evening dtd. 13.6.1926 before left Rome by Tagore is relevant. Tagore’s views, ‘Material, wealth and power cannot make a country immortal, she must contribute something which is great and which is for everybody, and which does not merely glorify her own self.’ Mussolini did not reply and keeps silent because it was known to him that ‘Idealists and humanists are always think and express such.’ He was neither idealist not the humanist, so the advice and sermon from Tagore was meaningless to him. Tagore expresses his view in that way ‘Man is his fullness is not powerful but perfect.’ Perhaps it was known to him (Tagore) that Mussolini will not accept and followed his suggestions. Yet, he performed his duty because he believed in the ideology that ‘If the people be hard of hearing, yet, hymn of truth must be utter and narrate’. In this case the humanistic approach of counseling from the end of Tagore become failure, and ultimate result of Mussolini and Italy after 2nd World ware is known to all.
People say ‘Nah Papey Patipapo Sath’- You should never commit sin or take revenge against him who is against you, immoral or religious offence to do harm’. But it can never be said that it is an advice of a mad and this is called humanism. The implementation of such theory in life is very difficult and depends upon the nature of the person.
While Tagore was in global tour, he acquainted the people everywhere with the folklore of Bengal, particularly, Baul songs and its illiterate artists. As a result, philosopher like Professor Sylvain Levi showed earnest eagerness towards Baul songs and Baul sects where humanistic approach of counseling is hidden. Tagore has spent a lot of time to listen to Baul songs in painful environment of the district of Birbhum. The main object behind that toilsome endeavor is to place native culture and tradition before the eyes of the people of the world.
On date 19.12.1925 when Rabindranath had delivered his Presidential address before highly educated persons in a meeting of first session of the Indian Philosophical Congress in Calcutta University, he had spoken about the Baul sect. he said, “The Baul sects have come from such class of family who are considered uneducated in prevalent meaning. Once I asked some Bauls to write some of their songs. I have noticed that at first they felt embarrassed to write, however when they have ventured to write, I have disappointed to interpret the passage; because the spelling layout of letters – all are weak. Baul poets have their own spiritual performance or “Dehotattwo” (দেহতত্ত্ব, Spiritual Physiology) which is very abstruse and difficult to access; because their spiritual performance is based on the perception of transcendentalism.”*13
A wonderful relationship between Tagore and Baul Darbesh (mendicant) developed. The development of such relationship is possible because Tagore realized and perceived abstruse object hidden in the songs of Baul where enriched materials of counseling is hidden with humanistic approach. In this connection Dr.Sukumar Sen says “The joint influence of Kirtan and Baul system made ‘Gitanjali-Gitali so unique.”*14 Really, both Gitanjali and Gitali are so unique for counselling.
In 1930, when Rabindranath visited Russia (USSR), he found Csarist regime vanished in oblivion and in its place the Communist regime gripped the entire country when Lenin was no more in the world. The Communist economy and administration banned all types of spiritual activities in Russia. Having seen the socioeconomic condition and the total situation of this country and with consultation with all types of citizens, thinkers and also with the leaders he expressed his attitude through a Baul song:
“নিঠুর গরজি,
তুই কি মানসমুকুল ভুজবি আগুনে ?
তুই ফুল ফুটাবি বাস ছুটাবি সবুর বিহনে ।
দেখনা আমার পরম গুরু সাঁই
সে যুগযুগান্তে ফুটায় মুকুল তাড়াহুড়া নাই
তোর লোভ প্রচন্ড, তাই ভরসা দণ্ড –
এর আছে কোন উপায়।“ *15
(Human qualities are compared with blossom and fragrance of flowers. One cannot make flowers blossom and scatter fragrance without the sun rays. All efforts of, to blossom flowers in artificial environment will be fruitless endeavor. Can you not perceive how our Supreme Lord ages after ages make flowers blossom without hurry-scurry? Your greed is stupendous, so your expectation will be foiled. Is there any way?)
In this song, the Baul intends to say that before imposing any views and decision, one should give more prominence on human nature. If it is not to be done, the views and decision so imposed will be equivalent to violence, forcible occupation, and painful action. He expressed his views about this song to the Russian leaders, but the Russian leaders did not pay heed to the sermon of that song. As a result, the present condition of Russia is known to all. It is in breaking point after about seventy years of socialistic rules. The counseling of Tagore failed in this case.
In 26th May, 1924 Tagore reached Japan, at that time Japan was in quite trouble and one of them was natural calamity like earth quake, the diplomatic relation between America and Japan regarding the rights on the Pacific ocean, political and economical unrest in the society due to extreme increase of population in such small area like Japan. Tagore realised the matter of problems and feel that there is a temptation in the Japanese and advise not to be irritate due to narrow and ill behavior of America. Tagore’s psychological reasonable and intuitive thought is like that ‘when any people misbehave and /or unjust with other then naturally the human adversary normally revolt and protest. At that moment it is not possible to do respect to the high moral thought.’ Tagore directly criticised about the misbehavior of Japan towards China and Korea, two neighbors. Tagore said - “I have deep love for you as a people but when as a nation you have your dealings with other nations you can also be deceptive, cruel and efficient in handling those methods in which the western nations show such mastery.’’*16
Gurudev Rabindranath visited Japan before 8 years ago during the time of First World War and at that time Tagore criticised the greediness of Japan regarding forcefully attacking and acquiring other country. Second times Tagore repeated the same thing what he said before, - ‘If you must have peace, you will have to fight the spirit of this demon Nation.’*17 What Tagore said was published in the topic ‘Jati o Janasadharan,’ Parabashi, as follows
“নেশনের এই সমস্ত সৃষ্টি – ধ্বংসসাধনের ও ধনবৃদ্ধির যন্ত্রপাতি – কূটরাজনীতির প্রকাশ্য ও গোপন আচরণ । এই-সবের মূল্য কী ? ইহাদের সম্মুখে নৈতিকবন্ধন পরাভূত এবং পরস্পরের মধ্যে ভ্রাতৃভাব বিনষ্ট । এগুলি গ্রহণ করিতে আপনারা প্রলুব্ধ হইতেছেন, অথবা আপনাদিগকে প্রায় বাধ্য করা হইতেছে । ... আমি জাপানবাসী আপনাদিগকে সতর্ক করিয়া দিতে আসিয়াছি যে জাপানে বসিয়া আমি ন্যাশন্যালিজমের বিরুদ্ধে বক্তৃতা লিখিয়াছিলাম এবং এমন সময় লিখিয়াছিলাম যখন লোকে আমার মতামত উপহাস করিয়াছিল । ... আর একবার আমি আপনাদিগকে এই কথা স্মরণ করাইয়া দিতে আসিয়াছি । ... জাপান তাহার প্রকৃত স্বরূপ খুঁজিয়া বাহির করুক – যে স্বরূপ কেবল পরের নিকট হইতে শিক্ষা গ্রহণ করিবে না । নিজের জগৎ সৃষ্টি করিবে, যে জগৎ মানুষকে বাহ্য যাহা দিবার তাহা দিতে ঔদার্য দেখাইবে । আপনাদের মহত্ত্ব স্বীকার করিয়া এশিয়ার সমস্ত জাতি গর্বান্বিত হউক; সে মহত্ত্ব পরজাতিকে দাস করিয়া রাখার উপর যেন প্রতিষ্ঠিত না হয়, কেবলমাত্র নিজেদের জন্য অর্থ আহরণের উপর যেন ভিত্তি না থাকে – সে অর্থ সর্বকালের মানব-কর্তৃক গৃহীত হয় না এবং ঈশ্বর তাহা প্রত্যাখ্যান করেন ।”*18
It is fact that the Japanese ruler had no intuitive power to realise, understand, and no tract and judgment power, no inner vision and also no faith upon such learned Noble awarded man for that people of Japan have to expiate. Here counselling failed due to the arrogant attitude of the Political Leaders in the power and result ‘Nagasaki and Hiroshima’ destruction of civilization by violating all Human Rights and Humanism through “LITTLE BOY” carried by American Air Force to drop in Japan carried from Military Camp SALUA, Near I.I.T. Kharagpur, W.B., India (where it was kept under the custody of British Raj in India), which is shame to us being an INDIAN. At present Japanese implemented the Indian Vedic system of education in their schools (i.e. natural environment condition school is going on under tree not in the room by rejecting close door system). Japanese first computerized “The Gitanjali” and found different excellent results one of them is the word ‘amar’ is used maximum. This is one of the great respect and Honor to Tagore.
The comments about China by Tagore were very interesting. In the year 1917, during tour to USA via Japan ship of Tagore take rest at Hong Cong Port for 2 days. At that time he observed the works of the Chinese labors working at the port and surprised also bewitched. What Tagore written at that time is now absolutely true!
“এমন শরীর কোথাও দেখি নি, এমন কাজও না । ...মাথা থেকে পা পর্যন্ত কোথাও অনিচ্ছা, অবসাদ বা জড়ত্বের লেশমাত্র লক্ষণ দেখা গেল না । ... চীন সুদীর্ঘকাল ... পূর্ণভাবে কাজ করতে শিখেছে; ... চীনের এই শক্তি আছে বলেই আমেরিকা চীনকে ভয় করেছে – কাজের উদ্দমে চীনকে সে জিততে পারে না, গায়ের জোরে তাকে ঠেকিয়ে রাখতে চায় ।
এই এতবড়ো একটা শক্তি যখন ... আধুনিক কালের বাহনকে পাবে, অর্থাৎ যখন বিজ্ঞান তার আয়ত্ত হবে, তখন পৃথিবীতে তাকে বাধা দিতে পারে এমন কোন শক্তি আছে ? তখন তার কর্মের প্রতিভার সঙ্গে তার উপকরণের যোগসাধন হবে । এখন যেসব জাতি পৃথিবীর সম্পদ ভোগ করছে তারা চীনের সেই অভ্যুত্থানকে ভয় করে, সেই দিনকে তারা ঠেকিয়ে রাখতে চায়।’’*19
The intuition of Tagore is 100% correct. The sympathetic approach from Tagore regarding opium topic Chiney Moroner Babsha, during the time of First World War visited to China and by seen the extreme harassment of Chinese by the Japanese Tagore written Nationalism where he expressed his grievances. At present the upliftmant of China in the world economy is respect to Tagore by Chinese.

‘দেহ মধ্যে মন রাজা
পঞ্চ ইন্দ্রিয় তার প্রজা
কথাই মানে না ।’
বাউল তার এই গানের মধ্যে আমাদের শরীরে যে পাঁচটি ইন্দ্রিয় (চক্ষু, কর্ণ, নাসিকা, জিহ্বা ও ত্বক) তার মধ্যে মনকেই সর্বশ্রেষ্ঠ বলেছে । তাই মানুষকে বুঝতে গেলে তার মনকে বুঝতে হবে । মনকে না বুঝলে মানুষ অধরাই থেকে যায়, জানা সম্পূর্ণ হয় না । ওপর থেকে দেখে মানুষকে সম্পুর্ণ জানা যায় না । মানুষের মনের গতি প্রকৃতি অতি বিচিত্র । মনকে বশে আনতে পারলে সব কিছু করা সম্ভব । মানসিক ভাবে সুস্থ মানুষ অসাধ্য সাধন করতে পারে । জীবনে যারা লব্ধ প্রতিষ্ঠিত তাদের মানসিক গঠন অসাধারণ । সাধক রামপ্রসাদ মানব জীবনকে নিয়ে বলেছেন –
“মনরে কৃষি কাজ জানো না
এমন মানব জমিন রইল পতিত
আবাদ করলে ফলতো সোনা”
আইন্সটাইন, রবিন্দ্রনাথ, নিউটনের মত ব্যক্তিরা আমাদের কাছে প্রণম্য । দার্শনিক চিন্তা ছিল বলে আইন্সটাইন ছাব্বিশ বছর বয়সে যখন চাকরির জন্য হন্যে হয়ে ঘুরছেন সেই বেকারিত্যের মধ্যে তাঁর বিখ্যাত “থিওরি অফ রিলেটিভিটি” আবিষ্কার করেন । এটা তাঁর দৃঢ় মানসিকতার পরিচয় । রবিন্দ্রনাথের জীবন নিয়ে আলোচনা করলে দেখা যায় সন্তান হারানোর পর পিতা রবিন্দ্রনাথ যে ভগবত চিন্তার মধ্যে দিয়ে গীতাঞ্জলি রচনা করেন, এটা তাঁর দৃঢ় মানসিকতার পরিচয় । শুধুমাত্র সন্তান হারানো নয়, সাংসারিক বিবাদ, বিশ্বভারতীর অর্থকষ্ট – এ সমস্তকে উপেক্ষা করে সাহিত্য এবং ব্রহ্মসঙ্গীত রচনার মধ্য দিয়ে সমস্ত মানবজাতিকে গীতাঞ্জলি উপহার দেন । তাই মানুষের মন এমনই একটা জিনিষ তাকে অবশ্যই ভাল ভাবে জানতে হবে । বাউল দর্শনে মনস্তত্বকে সবচেয়ে বেশি প্রাধান্য দেয় । এটি জৈন ধর্মের দর্শনকেও সমর্থন করে । জৈন ধর্মের দর্শন ব্যপক অহিংসাকে সমর্থন করে, তাই জৈনদের সাথে কারও বিরোধ হয় না ।
এটা খুবই আশ্চর্য, হিবার্ট বক্তৃতার পর রবিন্দ্রনাথ ও আইন্সটাইনের মধ্যে একান্তে যে আলোচনা হয় তা ছিল জৈন ধর্মের দর্শনের উপর । অথচ রবীন্দ্রনাথ ছিলেন হিন্দু (ব্রাহ্ম) আর আইন্সটাইন ছিলেন ইহুদি । দুজনের দার্শনিক চিন্তা ও মনস্তত্ত্ব একসাথে মিলেমিশে একাকার হয়ে গেছে ।
কাউন্সিলিং করতে গেলে মনস্তত্ত্ব জানতে ও বুঝতে হবে । এটা কোন বইতে পাওয়া না যেতে পারে । ঠাকুর শ্রীরামকৃষ্ণ কোন বই পড়েননি, কিন্তু তাঁর মত কাউন্সিলার ভূভারতে বিরল । কথামৃতের লেখক শ্রী ম যখন আত্মহত্যার জন্যে প্রস্তুত তখন তাঁর দেখা হয় ঠাকুর শ্রীরামকৃষ্ণের সাথে, কথাও হয় । এর পর ওনার আর আত্মহনন করা হয় নি । তিনি ঠাকুরের বাণী, বক্তৃতা সব কিছু লিখে রাখতেন – পরে যা “শ্রীরামকৃষ্ণ কথামৃত” নামক গ্রন্থ রূপে প্রকাশিত হয় । ঠাকুর এবং শ্রী ম’র মধ্যে যে কথাবার্তা হয় সেটি কাউন্সিলিং ছাড়া আর কি ! এই “কথামৃত” গ্রন্থটি কাউন্সিলারদের কাছে কাউন্সিলিং’এর গীতা, কোরান, বাইবেল, ত্রিপীটক, গ্রন্থসাহেব ইত্যাদি ।
মহাভারতের যুদ্ধ হত না যদি না অর্জুন গাণ্ডীব ধরতেন । তিনি যখন গাণ্ডীব ত্যাগ করলেন তখন শ্রীকৃষ্ণ কাউন্সিলিংএর মাধ্যমে তাঁকে যুদ্ধে রাজি করালেন । শ্রীকৃষ্ণ অর্জুনের মনস্তত্ত্বকে সঠিক ভাবে বুঝে ছিলেন এবং তাঁকে বিশ্বরূপ দর্শনের মাধ্যমে তাঁকে ধর্মযুদ্ধে রাজি করিয়েছিলেন । এই কাউন্সিলিং থেকেই শ্রীমদ্ভগবদ্গীতার উৎপত্তি ।
আবার ব্যর্থ কাউন্সিলিং’এর উদাহরণ এবং আলোচনাও প্রাসঙ্গিক । গৌতম বুদ্ধ যখন সংসার ত্যাগ করে ঘুরতে ঘুরতে বিহারের (এখনকার ঝাড়খণ্ডের) হাজারিবাগ জেলায় ইটখোরিতে এসেছেন তখন তাঁর পিতা শুদ্ধধন খোঁজ করতে করতে সেখানে এসে তাঁর দেখা পান । গৌতম তখন চিরাগ ধারন করে সাধনায় ব্যস্ত । পিতার সঙ্গে তাঁর কথাবার্তা হয় কিন্তু শুদ্ধধন ব্যর্থ মনোরথ হয়ে ফিরে আসেন । এখানে পিতার কাউন্সিলিং ব্যর্থ হয় । হতাশ হয়ে বলেন “ম্যাইনে ইত্ত’কো খো দিয়া” (I lost my itta). এই “ইত্ত” কথা অপভ্রংশ হতে হতে আজ “ইটখোরী” রূপে পরিচিত । যদিও এখন একটি কালী মন্দির দেখা যায় কিন্তু প্রকৃতপক্ষে এটি বুদ্ধ মন্দির ছিল । কালের পরিহাসে এটি এখন হিন্দু মন্দির । বুদ্ধ বৌদ্ধত্ব প্রাপ্তির আশায় বিভিন্ন জায়গায় বসে সাধনা করেন, কিন্তু গয়াতে নিরঞ্জনা বা ফল্গু নদী তীরে সাধনায় সিদ্ধি লাভ করেন । কিন্তু প্রথমে যে স্থানে তিনি সাধনায় বসেন সেটি ছিল বর্তমান ইটখোরীর এই হিন্দু মন্দির ।
শ্রী চৈতন্য মহাপ্রভু বৈষ্ণব ধর্মের জন্য যখন গৃহত্যাগ করেন তখন তাঁর মা শচিমাতা এবং স্ত্রী বিষ্ণুপ্রিয়া কান্নায় ভেঙ্গে পড়েন । তখন পুরবাসীরা নিমাইকে প্রশ্ন করে কোন উত্তর পেলেন না । তখনকার সমাজের মাতৃকুল যে প্রশ্ন করেছিল তা একটি ভাওইয়া গানের মধ্যে সুন্দর ভাবে ব্যক্ত –
“সন্ন্যাসী না হইও নিমাই রে
মাকে ছাড়িয়া
তোর মা যে ঘরে রবে কাঁদিয়া কাঁদিয়া রে ।
শাস্ত্র পড়িয়া নিমাই সংসার বুঝাও বড়
নিজে কেনে অবুঝ হইয়া মাকে তুমি ছাড় রে ।
সোনা দামী হীরা দামী, আরো দামী মণি
তাহার চাইতে অধিক বাছা মাও বড় জননী রে ।
“সন্ন্যাসী না হইও নিমাই রে”
এই কাউন্সিলিং নিমাইকে তাঁর অভীষ্ট লক্ষ থেকে টলাতে পারেনি । যেমনটি পারেনি গৌতম বুদ্ধকে । এখন কেন এমন হয় ? মহাকবি শেক্সপীয়ার মানব জীবনের নাট্য রচনার সুখ দুঃখময় জীবন চিন্তনে শুভাশুভ কর্মফল সম্পর্কে জ্যোতিষকে আশ্রয় করেছেন। তাঁর রচিত “Twelfth Night” নাটকে দ্বিতীয় অঙ্কে পঞ্চম দৃশ্যে নায়কের উক্তি এখানে প্রাসঙ্গিক “Some are born great, some achieve greatness and some have greatness thrust upon them.” এখানে গৌতম বুদ্ধ এবং শ্রী চৈতন্যদেবের ক্ষেত্রে শেক্সপীয়ারের কথায় “Some are born great…” এই কথাটি খাটে । তাই মহামানব বুদ্ধ ও শ্রী চৈতন্যদেবের ক্ষেত্রে কাউন্সিলিং কোন কাজ করেনি । কারণ তাঁরা বুঝেছিলেন মানব সমাজের কল্যাণের জন্যই তাঁরা জন্মেছেন । মানুষকে নতুন পথ দেখাতেই তাঁদের জন্ম । তাঁদের কাছে আত্মসুখ পথের ধুলো । তাই তাঁরা বিশ্ব বিধাতার ডাকে নিজেদের উৎসর্গ করেছেন । রবীন্দ্রনাথ তাঁর “চিত্রা” কাব্যগ্রন্থে “এবার ফিরাও মোরে” কবিতায় খুব সুন্দর ভাবে ব্যক্ত করেছেন ।
“মহাবিশ্বজীবনের তরঙ্গেতে নাচিতে নাচিতে
নির্ভয়ে ছুটিতে হবে, সত্যেরে করিয়া ধ্রুবতারা ।
মৃত্যুরে করি না শঙ্কা । দুর্দিনের অশ্রুজলধারা
মস্তকে পড়িবে ঝরি — তারি মাঝে যাব অভিসারে
তার কাছে, জীবনসর্বস্বধন অর্পিয়াছি যারে
জন্ম জন্ম ধরি । কে সে ?
জানি না কে । চিনি নাই তারে —
শুধু এইটুকু জানি — তারি লাগি রাত্রি-অন্ধকারে
চলেছে মানবযাত্রী যুগ হতে যুগান্তর-পানে
ঝড়ঝঞ্ঝা-বজ্রপাতে, জ্বালায়ে ধরিয়া সাবধানে
অন্তরপ্রদীপখানি । শুধু জানি যে শুনেছে কানে
তাহার আহ্বানগীত, ছুটেছে সে নির্ভীক পরানে
সংকট আবর্তমাঝে, দিয়েছে সে বিশ্ব বিসর্জন,
নির্যাতন লয়েছে সে বক্ষ পাতি মৃত্যুর গর্জন
শুনেছে সে সংগীতের মতো ।...

রাজপুত্র পরিয়াছে ছিন্ন কন্থা, বিষয়ে বিরাগী
পথের ভিক্ষুক । মহাপ্রাণ সহিয়াছে পলে পলে
সংসারের ক্ষুদ্র উৎপীড়ন, বিঁধিয়াছে পদতলে
প্রত্যহের কুশাঙ্কুর, ...
...তারি পদে মানী সঁপিয়াছে মান,
ধনী সঁপিয়াছে ধন, বীর সঁপিয়াছে আত্মপ্রাণ; ...
...শুধু জানি
সে বিশ্বপ্রিয়ার প্রেমে ক্ষুদ্রতারে দিয়া বলিদান
বর্জিতে হইবে দূরে জীবনের সর্ব অসম্মান;
সম্মুখে দাঁড়াতে হবে উন্নত মস্তক উচ্চে তুলি
যে মস্তকে ভয় লেখে নাই লেখা, দাসত্বের ধূলি
আঁকে নাই কলঙ্কতিলক ।...”
কাউন্সিলিং এবং গৌতম বুদ্ধ
গৌতম বুদ্ধের পূর্বজন্ম নিয়ে রচিত গল্প কাহিনী ঈশান ঘোষের জাতকের গল্প থেকে জানা যায় বুদ্ধ যখন তাঁর জন্ম প্রচার করছেন একদিন এক মা তার মৃত শিশুকে নিয়ে বুদ্ধের কাছে এসে সেই শিশুর প্রাণ ফিরিয়ে দেওয়ার জন্য আর্তি জানালেন । কারণ বুদ্ধকে সবাই ভগবান রূপে সবাই মানত । বুদ্ধ সেই মায়ের আর্তি শুনে তাকে বললেন সেই বাড়ির থেকে এক মুঠো মাটি নিয়ে আসতে যে বাড়িতে কোন দিন কেউ মারা যায় নি । সেই মাতা গোটা নগর পরিক্রমা করে অবশেষে ব্যর্থ হয়ে ফিরে এলেন । তখন বুদ্ধ তাকে জন্ম মৃত্যুর বৃত্তান্ত সবিস্তারে ব্যাখ্যা করে বোঝালেন যে এটাই প্রাকৃতিক নিয়ম। এটি বুদ্ধের দ্বারা সেই সন্তানহারা মায়ের কাউন্সিলিং । বুদ্ধ প্রথমে ওনাকে কোন কাউন্সিলিংই করেননি - তিনি একটি মাত্র কাজ দিয়েছিলেন । বুদ্ধ প্রথমেই যদি কিছু বোঝাতে যেতেন তাতে কিছু লাভ হত কিনা যথেষ্ট ছিল । তিনি সন্তানহারা মায়ের মনস্তত্ত্ব সঠিক ও গভীর ভাবে উপলব্ধি করে সঠিক পথ নির্দেশিকা দিয়েছিলেন । Psychology’র জ্ঞান এবং অভিজ্ঞতা না থাকলে সহিক কাউন্সিলিং করা সম্ভব নয় । এক্ষেত্রে বুদ্ধ একজন প্রকৃত কাউন্সিলার ।
কাউন্সিলিং এবং গুরু নানক
একবার এক ব্যক্তি তার ছেলেকে নিয়ে গুরু নানকের কাছে এলেন । তার ছেলে খুবই ছোট কিন্তু তার প্রচণ্ড সুগার (মধুমেয়) । ছেলেটি খুব চিনি খায় – কারও কথা শুনে না । গুরু নানক সব শুনে তাদের ১৫ দিন বাদে আসতে বললেন । ১৫ দিন পর পিতা পুত্র এলে গুরু নানক তাদের কথা শুনে আবার ১৫ দিন পর আসতে বললেন। এইভাবে দুই তিন বার আসার পর শেষে শিশুটির পিতা যখন হতাশায় ভুগছেন তখন গুরু নানক ছেলেটিকে বললেন “তুমি চিনি খাওয়া ছেড়ে দাও, নাহলে তোমার ক্ষতি হবে ।” তখন ছেলেটির পিতা গুরু নানককে বললেন যে এতবার না ঘুরিয়ে এই কথাটি তিনি আগেই বলতে পারতেন; আগে কেন বলেননি তা তিনি জানতে চাইলেন । তখন নানক তাকে বললেন তিনিও প্রচণ্ড চিনি খেতেন, অনেক চেষ্টা করার পর তা তিনি ছাড়তে পেরেছেন । যা তিনি নিজে পারেন না তা তিনি অপরকে পরামর্শ দেবেন কি করে ? ‘আপনি আচরি ধর্ম অপরে শেখায় ।’ তিনি যখন চিনি ছাড়তে পেরেছেন তখনই তার অধিকার জন্মেছে শিশুটিকে বলার ।
এই প্রসঙ্গে পশ্চিমবঙ্গের এক সাস্থ্যমন্ত্রীর কাহিনী খুবই উল্লেখযোগ্য । ওই মন্ত্রী নিজে প্রচুর ধুমপান করতেন, তিনি ধুমপানের বিরুদ্ধে কি করে কথা বলবেন ? একটি মিটিং’এ তখনকার কেন্দ্রীয় সাস্থ্যমন্ত্রীর কাছ থেকে ধাক্কা খেয়ে রাজ্যের সাস্থ্যমন্ত্রী সারা জীবনের মত ধুমপান ছেড়ে দিয়েছেন । এও এক দৃষ্টান্ত – এক মন্ত্রীর দ্বারা আর এক মন্ত্রীর কাউন্সিলিং ।
কাউন্সিলিং এবং রবীন্দ্রনাথ
একবার অঙ্কের মাস্টারমশাই কণিকা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়’কে (মোহর) অঙ্ক না পারার জন্য খুব মার মেরেছেন । মোহর তখন শান্তিনিকতনের পঞ্চম শ্রেণীর ছাত্রী এবং আশ্রমবালিকা । তাকে কাঁদতে দেখে রবীন্দ্রনাথ যখন জানলেন যে অঙ্ক না পারার জন্য বালিকাটি মার খেয়েছেন তখন রবীন্দ্রনাথ তাকে স্নেহের দৃষ্টিতে জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন সে গান গাইতে পারে কি না । তার উত্তরে মোহর বলেছিল সেটা সে খুব ভাল ভাবেই পারে । তখন রবীন্দ্রনাথ তাকে আশ্বস্ত করলেন গানটা পারলেই হবে, অঙ্ক না পারলেও চলবে । মোহরের কান্না থামল । পরের ঘটনা বলাই বাহুল্য - কারণ রবীন্দ্রনাথ তাঁর অন্তঃদৃষ্টি দিয়ে দেখেছিলেন যে এই মেয়েটি কোন গাণিতিক না হয়ে একদিন বিখ্যাত সঙ্গীতজ্ঞ হবেন । এটাও একধরণের কাউন্সিলিং ।
CHAPTER - 5
HOROSCOPES OF SOME INDIAN HUMANISTS-COUNSELLOR
Person followed and implemented the theory of Humanism in their personal life is obviously humanist and he/she do better for whole society through their works by controlling the evil thought througt their inner power. Such persons are Goutam Buddha, Chaitanya, Ramkrishna, Rabindranath Tagore. The horoscopes of them are enclosed. (ANNUXERE-II & III ).
The following points are the essential factors required in the horoscope of a humanist. A person must be inhumn if Rahu is in the 9th house, because 9th house is the house of dharma or religion. A non-religious person is always inhuman in nature and Rahu is not religious planet.
2. For humanist lagna lord must be good aspect with 9th lord.
3. Presence of Moon must be either in lagna or in the 7th house or it must be good aspect with lagna.
4. 5th lord must either aspect lagna or Moon or lagna lord.
5. Lagna lord may be in exaltation.
6. Jupiter must be either aspect lagna or Moon or lagna lord.
7. No malefic planet either present or aspect 9th and 5th house. (Exception in special case may be found with proper reason) i.e. Ketu is not a malefic planet when present in 9th house.
8. The Raj yoga karaka planet must be in exaltated in the horoscope.
9. Lagna lord, 5th lord, 9th must be strong and may be exaltated.
10. The native must be non-religious and inhuman in nature if any debilitation planet present in the 9th house or the 9th lord is either in the 6th, 8th or 12th house. The nature of native must be miser, selfish, non-religious and inhuman.
11. If the 9th lord be weak and any debilitation planet is in the 9th house and any malefic planet is in lagna and in the 5th house or is in the7th house. If Jupiter may be aspect with Rahu or in the same house the native may be inhuman in nature and he/she do any evil work and must be cruel in nature and never be kind hearted.
The humanism of a great man is no doubt a debatable matter. Topic discussed from present situation and from my personal thought and outlook. Actually, socio-economic conditions, situation and history during that time (Jugo) when the native was passing his/her lifetime are now not clear to us.
A person started to make ready a new passage or narrow lane for walking. Then there is enough persons seen who try to develop the lane to road, road to street and converted to high way. And there is no deficient of man for waling. Hope, my humble approach will be appreciated and modified by the thinkers interested of this subject.
CHAPTER- 6
LIFE STYLE MANAGEMENT AND BETTER LIVING
It is fact that counseling is meaningless if counselee will not get any benefit from the counselor. Therefore, counselor must have some knowledge about psychology, physiology. Regarding physiology counesellee is a patient to the counselor [who is a doctor] and so patient must have to give some relief and remedy. Physiologically counsellee have some characteristics i) either counselee is talkative or silent in mood, ii) suffering from insomnia, iii) unnecessary thinking and thinking repeatedly and not found solution iv) deficiency in Sodium and Potassium (blood test report), v) cell division in the brain hamper, toxic elements deposited in body (test of triglyceride) vii) counsellee must not be suffering from cough for long time, viii) bad food habit, xi) drugs or any bad habits like smoking, consume alcohol, ix) sleeping problems etc. Main problem rose due to the deficiency of oxygen in proper amount in the brain.
PSYCHO-SOMATIC DISEASES & SOLUTIONS
Food Recommended for Patient
For treatment of brain i) Main medicine is Brahmi, it must be consumed regularly in the morning in empty stomach which removes spot in the brain and cell division starts. ii) Consume sour regularly in lunch and dinner. iii) Regularly ground nut, almond , pani-fal, coconut, khajur, must be consumed. iv) Water of green coconut must be consumed daily which increase sodium and potassium content. v) Dumur fruit must be consumed. vi) Use Kachu as a for deficiency of sodium and potassium. vii) For deep and sound sleep consume susni and jatamanshi is most effective
Sound Music Therapy
Sound from string instrument particularly tanpura, sitar, santur, rudra vina, dotara is very much effective which helps to sleeping. The sounds of flute of different ragas give good result for sound sleeping which has been seen from the effect of sound of musical instrument basuri (flulet) on Rose marry, Dalia and Sunflower. The effect of music and sound was observed in case of any living matter whether it may be plants or man or animal. Never use mobile better to keep away from radiation.
Naturopathy system
i) Use mud pad therapy to remove toxic elements from body. Ii) Use steam bath, massage, jal-neti, rubber-neti regurly, use pultish, sirodhara, kati basti, birochan pokria. Sirodhara is must for each and every patient [ Phychosomatic, Phycharitic Lunatic even also any normal person ] iii) Nari suddhi pranayam, vamori, kapal varti, anulome-bilom must be done daily 2 times morning and evening. iv) Use 2-4 drops of badam rogon as an nosal drop in the sleeping time in the night.
Herbal Medicine
Plants and hubs have major role on human life life which has been recognized by many great personates from voided age some of them are enclosed as ( ANNEXARE-IV ). Use of some important herbal medicinal plants species given for treatment of psychosomatic problems
If person is mad or behave abnormal sharp gandha may be given to the patient with consultation with physician. Ii) Person be suffering from epilepsy then susni () and jatamanshi , mutha , satamul, telakucha may be used as per advice of physician. iii) Tulsi must be used which solve many problems. iv) Every house must have some plants in the house home garden, roof garden even also garden within the flat which remove the negative energy from the residence. It has been proved that only tulsi can solve many problems our life. Therefore, the people of rural area are more energetic, healthy and happy compare to the people of urban area.
In this way proper management of life style people may be deal healthy and happy life without any anxiety.

CHAPTER-7
HUMANISTIC APPROACH OF COUNSELLING
AND MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE (AS AN ASTROLOGER)
Being a student of occult science (Astrology) I have tried to discuss about my personal experience regarding counselling as a student of this course. In our social system when a baby born the older person of the family moves to an Astrologer within 3 days of birth of newly born jataka to know about him/her, particularly that ‘is there any obstacles for surviving of newly born baby or not?’; and if any, then what protection should be measured. Astrologically, when a native came to the earth then unto 12 years, the role of Chandra is marak (cause of death). Senior family members of the newly born baby have taken prevention for good health of baby through puja-path, tantra-mantra-jantra, tabij-kabaj or in other way. This is a fully customs in Indian Hindu society. Indian Hindus have faith upon Astrology - day after day and year after year. Astrology teaches –
‘’Joshya nasti kholu janma patrika ja samasta suva suvo fala prakashni,
andha bhavati tasha jibanam dipa hina mandiram nishi.’’
[The native who has no janmo patrika (horoscope) from which all types of weal and woe can be known and expresses the life of native is like a temple without any lamp in the evening.] Therefore, in our country like India most of the people have more or less small (Tippon) and/or big size of janma patrika. This thought and believe of Indian society is very much depend upon Spiritual Astrology and religious base, and most not ignore this matter. Even also if we look to words western part of our world, the society of ancient Greece and Arabian country like Missor, Iraqi, Iran, Turaska also believe and develop Astrology. The Latin American people also depend upon and develop Astrology. Chinese people also had knowledge of Astrology during the time of Confucius before the birth of Lord Buddha. At present if we look to words USA, we will find that the satellites which were used for different purpose, NASA always calculate the proper time (muhurta) to move as per advice and suggestion of Astrologers, when such advice was not obey then un towards incidents happened so many times and hues amount of money and also life of astronauts fall in danger. This fact has been forecast in patrika. Regarding this subject about Astrology when Newton was asked that sir,’ do you believe in astrology’? Newton replied “I have studied this subject very little.” Regarding Astrology Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore express his experience through different writings (references enclosed*) sometimes good and sometimes bitter. According to the experience of Tagore -‘The person who believes in Astrology is full, but the people who don’t believe in Astrology are fuller than foolish.’

Now being a student of Astrology last 25 years I have studies so many horoscopes; but when counseling is concern my personal experience is full of sweet and sour; sometimes positive and sometimes negative. Two examples in each case are mentioned as follows:
Case -1: Native-A born on dtd. 30.3. 1963, 1.26 pm (IST) at Patna, Bihar. The horoscope (Jata Chakra) of native is:- KARKATA- (Lagna-8, Marks-9, Rahu-7); MAKARA- (Ketu-21, Sani- 23); KUMBHA- (Sukra-24); MINA- (Rabi-26, Budh-26, Guru-26); BRISH- (Chandra-4). Sannari Chakra- [Janma-4, Karma-13, Sanghatik-19, Samudoy-21, Binash-26, Manes- 1]; Karak Lagna- Singh; Karak-(Atma-Sani, Amarta -Moon).
This person-A, was came to my residence (to know about her future as he was in trouble) with his friend (Professor), who is also friend to me. Jataka came to me at that time when the Ascendant at that time of that place was in Kumbha 8th house of jataka this proves that jataka came to know about his death. The native was a Police Officer posting at Police Training Institute as an Principle because Jupiter of the jataka is in 9th house Mina, which causes guru-giri i.e. for the teaching, but lagna lord Moon is in the excelled house Brisha rashi in 11th house (provoked jataka for more and more income) and Rohini nakhatra causes (luxurious life style). This is the mental status of the jataka. Again, Saturn the 7th lord present in 7th house given dristi to the 9th house, i.e. house of luck, gurugiri ; lagna i.e. jataka himself; and 4th house i.e. house of landed property, conveyance (car) happiness etc. Actually, jataka had 80 bigha of fertile agricultural cultivated land, 3 cars and for another luxurious car the wife of jataka who is a Satarnian person insist her husband i.e. jataka and for more money and more property and for that jataka taken posting as an in charge of a police station where main view is to earn more money in illegal way. If we go to analyses the horoscope it is clear that the 11th lord Venous is in 8th house; and from Moon i.e. from Brish rashi 8th lord (the cause of death) juper is present in 11th house of Mina. Therefore, either from lagna or from rashi, income is the cause of death and/or vice versa. Again, the 6th lord (the cause of injury) Jupiter; 11th lord (the cause of income) Budh; 2nd lord (the cause of money) Sun; all are in Binash Nakhatra; Saturn and Rahu both have full dristhi upon them. From this point it is clear that money, income and injury are the root cause of destruction. Again, lagna the main point in the horoscope affected by Sani (the 7th & 8th lord which is maraca to the Karkata Lagna is the main cause of death), Jupiter (the 6th lord cause of injury), Rahu, Mangal fulfill all desire of death. Again, from Karak chakra it has been observed that the Karak lagna is Singha and Saturn is present in 6th house the house of injury and through his 3rd dristi influenced the 8th house and 8th lord Jupiter in Mina. Not only that through Kalsharpa jog jataka claimed in the top position and sudden fall from that position. And fulfill all desire of death. Atma karaka planet Sani and Ketu are in Makar rashi influence by Rahu and Mangal. Again, another cause of death is due to poisoning in body and also falls from higher place. When I have seen the horoscope I was confirmed about the death of jataka and for that I requested so many times not to take posting in field where public contact and action is present it will be danger to him, and it is better for him to do job for teaching (where there is no question of either public contact or action, no extra illegal income). Advice from my end to jataka was sermon that if any way jataka be posted at field then it is duty to refuse this offer, if his appeal be rejected then he should left the job gladly either voluntary retirement or resigned without any hesitation. But it is unfortunate jataka was motivated by his wife and joined the new assignment (posting at field for money i.e. for illegal income). My serious advice and suggestion was perhaps nothing but just jock to him for that he ignore my advice. But I have discharged my duty as an Astrologer as I remember the sermon of Gurudev Rabindranath to Mussolini. In this case “Counseling with my Humanistic approach, humanistic appeal and request to the native is failed, I feel myself as an unsuccessful counselor,” this type of incident happened with Rabindranath when his advice to Mussolini which was nothing but counseling was failed. Ultimatly, jataka lost his life as he is unable to overcome his destiny. Now when such incident happened? The dasha bhukti of Jupiter ended on 13.10.2004 and dasha bhukti of Sani stated on 13.10.2004 and gochar Sani moves from Mithun to Karkata on 06.9.2004 when the saray sati was ended and Sani dasha stated such painful incident was happened. Jupitor 6th lord, Mercury, Sani and Rahu or full dristhi of Rahu in 9th is the cause of death in the battled field which was happened with jataka-A.
Case-2 :- Jataka-B Born on dtd.-21.8.1998, 07.00 am (IST), Calcutta, JATA CHAKRA is as follows: Singha–Lagna-12, Rabi-10, Rahu-10; Brischik- ; Makar-Uranus(R)-22, Neptune(R)-21; Kumbha-Ketu-24; Mina-Jupiter(R)-25; Mesh- Sani-1; Karkat Mangal-8, Venus-8, Bud(R)-9, Moon-9. Sannari Chakra- Janma-9, Karma-18, Sanghatik-24, Samuday-26, Binash-4, Manash-6; Karak Lagna-Makar.
Jataka-B is born in Kalsharpa jogo. Ketu dasha start from the age of 10 years. Jataka during the Vimshotari dasha bhukti of Ketu-Jupitor (from dtd.13.10.2012 to 19.9.2013) jataka involved with guru chandelle works i.e. his life style has been changed. It is the time of adolescence period. Jataka involved in the sex and abuse his sex organ as guy. Jupitor the 8th lord represent sex present in 8th house as in retrograde condition and in his won nakhatra is highly strong and Ketu present in 7th house insist jataka to involve in sex. The jataka was ill-treated by an Astrologer who advice his father to were 2 stones Zircon (substitute of Dimond for Sukra) and Gomedh (for Rahu). Venus represents sex and Rahu represents vogue therefore, jataka in the teen age involved in enjoyment of sex- such nasty works and become a guy. The 2 stone promotes jataka to involve in homo sex. The father of the jataka was my friend, one day my friend informed me that his son (jataka) is unmindful and studding and told him that he will not be appeared in Metric Examination. It was very much shocked to my friend as a father. He came to me with date, time and place of birth after preparation of birth chart I suggest my friend not to wire the 2 stones given by the previous Astrologer and suggest him to wire one Panna (Emerald) and one Mukta or Moon-Stone. And on counselling jataka promise that he will engage him in study and will appeared in examination. And lastly he passed the examination with 82.5% marks. In this case “Humanistic approaches of Counselling become successful”. Here, my Astrological knowledge helps to diagnose the proper mental status of the jataka that what jataka is thinking and doing confidentially. Perhaps no any subject except Astrology can properly detect and diagnosed the mental status of jataka. Really, it is a big experience to me. In this way the knowledge of Astrology helps us for counsellor for counselling to solve many problems of our society, particularly at present critical socio-economic condition and situation.
Now question rose why counseling in case of Jataka-A failed and in case of Jataka-B successful? The counselling was done in the age of Jataka-A was 33-years but in case of Jataka-B were 15-years. A was mature but B was immature. Young mind is like soft mud but matured mind is hard mud or rigged. Therefore, to tackled B is easier than A.
Counsellig of a country required when entered society of the country under corruption that has been expressed nicely in the language Bengali as follow

CHAPTER-1
INTRODUCTION
The present project work proposes to make a critical, comparative and systematic study of concepts of Humanistic Approach of Counselling. This project makes an attempt to study the concept and attempted by some different world famous Indian personalities those who are thinkers, philosophers, sociologist, social reformer, religious, poet, psychologist, and philanthropist.
This type of study is most urgent, necessary and fruitful in at present critical situation because due to the drastic dramatic quick change in the socio economic condition in the society. The family becomes big to small, small to mini, mini to micro, micro to nano, and nano to alone ‘I’. At the same time change is also observed in the thinking power of the person. Everybody in such situation feels insecure particularity the old age person i.e. senior citizen and children. People forget their duties and responsibilities to their parents, family and society and involved with illegal, criminal, mischievous and notorious works. Eve teasing, molestation, murder, rape, acid attack increase drastically and dramatically within a few years, and also increasing day by day. The provocation from political leaders and Parliamentarians creates a typical situation and there no punishment. These MPs are enjoying all facilities and most are shame less. One statistic published from Parliament can answer so many things, how the shameless M.P snatching bloods of poor (um-janta) like leech. Criminalization in the politics accelerates such adverse situation. Not only that the affection of materials which are easily available to the teen agers like TV, mobile, net book, laptop etc criticized the situation. The western effect of internet completely confused spoil and depraved the young generation and more or less entire society of student is in aberration and morbidity. Virtuous infant particularly the baby, daughter are covetousness of venery. Young boys and girls of underage enjoying sex openly as a guy, lesbian and also in the system of live together. Most of the youth at present situation aimless, jobless, guardianless, no social security but beckon of hues pornography is enough to destroyed the nation. In such critical situation the role of Govt. is like as Jagannath, because all are ullus (owls), and regarding such leader’s Pakistani poet Iqbal written a shayari as follows:
“Barbadey gulistha aki ullu kaphi hay
har sakes par ullu baitha
unjaney gulistha kya hoga.”
[To destroy a garden one owl is enough, but here owls are sitting on each branch of every tree, therefore, what will be the future of the garden!]
In our country so many ullus are in top position controlling country. Therefore, future of country is big zero. So people have to take measures protection himself otherwise nobody will be responsible for that. Therefore, when adverse situation arise person concern have to take measures timely and have to move to counsellor for counseling, otherwise anything can be happened at any time. According to medical science ‘prevention is better than cure’. We the Indian people very much proud that so many wise, thinkers, says and saints, philosophers born in our ‘devo bhumi’ and time to time through their sermon, works, sacrifice protect us from all evils and whole world depended upon India time to time.
The project work will discuss some Indian famous counsellors like Goutam Buddha, Guru Nanak, Chaitanya, Ramakrishna Paramhansha, Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore. Their works, sermon and writings like poemes articles, songs etc which will help us as a medicine to improve our mental health and prevent from any psychosomatic problems.
In counselling, the counsellor must have some criteria like high inner vision (intuition), he must be a humanist, high judgmental power i.e., good tract and judgmental power i.e., power to critically analyses the matter with reasons with high philosophical thought.
The present project works is comprised of 7 chapters. The 1st Introductory chapter represents in brief about necessity of humanistic approach of counselling and relation with the goal of human life. The 2nd chapter deals with the Humanism, humanistic approach, intuition, religion, Religion of Man and thoughts of different philosophers, thinkers and wises. The 3rd chapter deals with counseling, critical situation and relief to the society. The 4th chapter deals with practical approach and return of results. The 5th chapter deals with horoscope of some renowned Indians counsellor and conclusion. The 6th chapter deals with Life Style Management – suggestion and recommendation to deal proper life style in their daily life for betterment. The 7th chapter deals with Humanistic approach of counselling and my personal experience (as an Astrologer).

HUMANISM, HUMANISTIC APPROACH, INTUITION, RELIGION, RELIGION OF MAN AND THOUGHTS OF
DIFFERENT PHILOSOPHERS,THINKERS AND WISES
According to ‘History’ the ideology of great man is continuing generation by generation through men. The great men have represented themselves through the history of men. This thought was symbolized as ‘Maha-Manab’ by Nobel awarded Rabindranath Tagore.
In the Gita it has been expressed that ‘Dharma Sansthapthanathya Sambhabhami Jugey Jugey’ The violation of human rights-‘humanism’ has been observed from the very age old time, when man became civilize. During the time of ‘Treta’ Ramchandra, the great king of Ayodhya violated the humanism during the time of were between Bali and Sugriv. Next, in the ‘Dapara’, Lord Krishna also violated the basic norms of humanism at the battlefield during the time ware of Mahabharata. The violation of humanism observed maximum during ‘Kali Jugo (era)’, particularly during 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th century. In 19th century, the doctrine of humanism of French philosopher Auguste Comte was very popular throughout the world. In place of God, he places humanism. *1 The view about humanism by Comte is not point of discussion. The viewpoint is to discuss about the humanistic approach of counseling.
Now first question arise what is humanism? And who is humanist? What are the minimum criteria for a person that he may be recognized as a humanist?
The word ‘Humanism’ comes from ‘Latin’ world ‘Humanitas’, which means to search the perfection of one self. It always inspires to raise oneself, strength.
About humanism Dr. S. Radhakrishnan expressed his views that “God is Supreme revolutionary. He is the master builder and so we are the servants of God, we must work for truth, for the truth which means the establishment of right relationships between man and man, community and community nation and nation.”*2
Human relationships are the mainspring of spiritual life. Man worships his God in all the true objects of man’s worship. Through love, man can understand others and realize the supreme in the heart of him.
Humanism related with the religion of man. About the Religion of Man - Prabhat Kumar Mukharjee express as his views in that way “We have heard Hindu’s religion, Muslim’s religion, Christian’s religion… … Generally, we define the ‘man’ in terms of cast or nationality - Brahman, Vaishya, Sudra – or blacksmith, potter, weaver and we know the nationality - as English, Russian, Japanese, Chinese, Generally people are habituated to this culture. Sometimes some great man, sages have come within us and hit on such ignorance and have told about the universal man, who do not belong to any caste.”*3
The word ‘Religion’ comes from the Latin word ‘Religo’. It comes from religare (re-ligare = to bind back), i.e. who tightly bind together that is religion. In English ‘ligate’ means ‘tie up’. In Sanskrit ‘Dharma’ come from the world ‘Dhri’ and means, which grasp the whole.
The science does not mean the science of English, science of French, science of India; science is the science wherever it may be. In this way Dharma (religion) means man’s dharma or man’s religion. It never be the separate religion. If any special religion, which hits the man’s religion then it, must be clear that he is hindering the truth the untruth is functioning in intrigue, which is evil, and this is death. The religion of modern age is the ‘Religion of Man’, which called ‘Humanism’. *4
According to S. Radhakrishnan, “Philosophy fails of its purpose and is unfaithful to its ideal if it assumes that particular religious beliefs should be accepted.” *4
Generally we called the religion as ‘Dharma’. ‘Dharma’ means perception’ or ‘perceptual realisation’. In other words, we can define it as ‘immediate awareness’ or ‘to see God face to face’. In West, philosophy is dependent on intellectual knowledge. But in East particularly in India, it is intuitive knowledge. This intuitive knowledge is one kind of modification of the intellectual knowledge.
Man’s philosophy is dependent upon his thinking of life and realization of ‘Universal Truth’. The truth is beauty and beauty is truth. Man is the worshiper of such truth. This truth has a universal picture. Therefore, ‘Inner Universal Truth’ is the man’s religion. Humanism is the religion of every man. Therefore, as a subject ‘Religion of Man’ and ‘Humanism’ is more or less same, because religion of man is not a specific religion but it is based on humanism.
About the religion and humanism the great humanist Rabindranath Tagore express his views by given a nice example-“ Animal’s nature e.g., its livelihood is its religion. But in case of human beings, livelihood can never be the only his nature, humanity is his main characteristic. So ‘Inner Universal Truth’ is man’s religion.”*5
Humanism is clearly revealed universality and sense of identify with all men, and revolt against all types of tyranny and injustice. Life is its fullness, in its exaltation of the human reason and the luminous quality of his faith and above all, in respect for the human personality is heading towards completion.
Religion should never be based upon the Koran or the Puran, the Vedas or the Upanishad, the Bible or the Tripitaka, Granthasab or Gita, etc, it is on humanism. Religion of any person should be based on the man’s religion, not at the outside orbit of man. So religion should be centralizes on humanism and it must be root of man’s life. There is no higher religion than that of sympathy for all that lives. Love is the foundation of all religions.
Every person possesses a special something, which he calls ‘his religion’. A man’s religion does not consist of blind beliefs that obstruct our comprehension; rather, it is as man’s innermost truth, a creative force, a life-sense, greater than his materials sense.
Every man possesses a religious though. The main nature of the religion is non-material approach. Love, kindness, ahimsa all positive characteristics consist in the religion. Practically, religion is a universal power, which is related with finite and infinite, matter and consciousness. It is one kind of manifestation of soul, which is birth less, deathless and universal. There is no binding in the religion of man and humanism. Religion relates finite soul with the infinite soul and it washes out all the evils of main’s heart. That’s why it makes a man a ‘God man’.
Beauty and truth are related with religion and humanism. If we do not love the truth, then it is not possible for us to adopt it. We cannot bind the truth with any artificial binding. Ideal life is related with truthfulness and ‘Dharma’ is not beyond these characteristics. The idea of religion is not the same as like the traditional idea that possess by the common people. Human nature is the human religion. The real meaning of religion is the ‘nature’ or ‘characteristic’ of a thing. For example, the nature of fire is its heat and power of burning, the nature of water is to wet. In the same way, the nature of good religion is to do well to others and that of a bad religion is to do harm to others. The nature of selfishness is to express one’s love centering round oneself only, whereas the nature of benevolence is to express love for others.
About the humanism the famous Bengali poet Chandidas expressed his views in this way:
‘Sunoho Manush Bhai (শুনহ মানুষ ভাই)
Sabar Uporey Masush Satya (সবার উপরে মানুষ সত্য)
Tahar Uporey Nai.’(তাহার উপরে নাই)
The theory of humanism is observed in every religion but sometimes the application on the society or the society or upon the ‘Human-Beings’ by powerful persons in their own way, which they demand the religion of that cast, society etc. But actually this is not the true religion this may be said as dogma. Rabindranath expresses his view is that way-‘…………The felling of man is not equal everywhere and in some where it is prevent and for that all man are till not recognized as a real man’. The Vaishnava and Baul, Sufi and Fakir, Sant strictly followed the rules of humanism. Of them there is no any sadhana except Baul in the human society in our world who strictly followed, obey and respect the humanism, and for that there is no conflict and clashed between the Baul and other people of different religions, although there is a conflict and clashed between and among the other religions.
The inhumanity within a man arise when he thinks in his mind and draws a difference between worshiper and himself, and man and God, and ultimately man and man. Rabindranath express his views in the Manusher Dharma is this way-“A worshipper of God is no better than a beast if he worships such God whose entity is quite different from the entity of the worshipper; because such imagination of God leads the worshipper to get himself chained by narrow outlook of life. His own created God drive him out from his own entity.’’*6
In their songs, the Baul express their realization of God in the same way as sages in the ‘Upanishads’ did; Rabindranath expressed his cogitation in his Hibbert Lecture, ‘The Religion of Man’. In the typed manuscript of ‘The Religion of Man’, a few lines of the Baul song (in Bengali) were jotted down by his own handwriting where the main theory of humanism is hidden. (Annexure-I)
“যেমন ভাবন তেমনি ভূবন
ভাবে ভবে মাখা মাখি ।
মানুষ নইলে কোথায় দাঁড়ায়,
অচেতনে সবই হারায়
যখন মিলবে সাড়া তোর সে সাড়ায়,
বুঝবি তখন পাকাপাকি ।‘’
“The world is as it is in our thought; the thought and existence are commingled. Everything would be lost in unconsciousness if may ware naught, and when response come to your own call you know the meaning of reality.”*7
The theory of humanism of Baul is also somewhat analogy with the philosophy, religion and humanism of Jainism.
In the Jain religion and philosophy, it is said that different persons old the views of the ‘Absolute Truth Theory’, from different aspects, but the deduction of each individual’s view carries some sort of truth. This very view of the philosophy of the Jain religion is found to be in harmony with that of great humanist Rabindranath, where he states that he also does not view the God as separate entity from that of him. “The lover seeks his own other self in his beloved.”* 8. Tagore carries this truth in his various writings. These are the components of identify in the philosophy, religion and humanism. The difficulty lies in these circumstances, so it is how to present this spiritual cogitation of Tagore methodically.
By developing such theory day after day, year after year, how, why and when it has been stopped - a short answer of this question can be found from the jest of the closed door conference between the great humanist famous Scientist Albert Einstein and Noble awarded Poet Rabindranath Tagore just after the Hibbert Lecture on dated 19th May, 21st May & 25th May 1930 at the Arlosh Hall, Manchester College, Oxford, England, which is as follows:
Tagore said, ‘When our universe is in harmony with man, the eternal, we know it as truth we fell it as beauty.’
Einstein answered ‘This is a purely human concept of the universe.’
Rabindranath added in, ‘There can be no other conception. This world is a human world; the scientific view of it is also that of the scientific man.’
‘…………… if there be some truth which has no sensuous or relation to the human mind it will ever remain as nothing so long as we remain as human beings.’
A person in the world where he belongs to any cast and/or creed may be classified into two groups whether he is human or inhuman. Every man has it’s own religion. Such as Rabindranath has ‘Poet religion’, Ramkrishna has ‘Deb/Purahit religion’, Newton and Einstein have ‘Scientist religion’, Mussolini and Hitler have ‘Warrior religion, Chaitanya has ‘Vedantic religion’, Lord Krishna has ‘Political religion’. But they must be either human or not human (inhuman) in their character. So either humanity must be analysis properly (through the help of astrology by analysis of horoscope and analysed properly).
The role of man in the society is different; he sometimes shows humanity and sometimes inhumanity in his short span in his life. For example, the great Empire Ashok in his life, at the early period he was a most inhuman person, but after the Kalinga War humanity developed in his mind and he become a great man. Reverse case also been seen in the so many persons mainly engaged in the different works particularly like politics and power. That also depends upon the dasa bhukti of the native. But as a whole when we go through the birth chart at a glance we can say that whether a person is human or inhuman.
“To kill the enemy is the religion of life, by overcoming this, man says, ‘to forgive the enemy’, which is unexpected. This is detrimental for the religion of life but enrichment of humanism.”*9
CHAPTER-3
COUNSELLING
In the Concise Dictionary (9th Edition) the word counseling having tow definitions have been observed, which appear to be conflicting, adding to potential confusion; “give advice to (a person) on social or personal problems, spatially professionally In.’’ And “the process of assisting and guiding client, especially by a trained person on a professional basis, to resolve especially personal, social, or psychological problem and difficulties.’’
Among the different counselor the western counselor Carl Rogers (1902-1987) developed an approach to counselling called the Person Centred Approach. Counselling is required to the person concern who is not in normal stage to save and protect the person in normal life it is a proper step to save from any danger. A person avoid counselling may or may not be in proper social life and may or may not be danger himself and do any work which is harmful to him or to the others at any movement, and for that it may be harmful to the nation.
Counselling done by different organisations like social organisation, religious institute, NGO, club, school, college university and any other educational institution, Govt. organisation like office, deffence; but when the counselling done by any orthodox, terrorist like organisation then it become dangerous not only to the person concerned it becomes dangerous to the nation and also to the Human Being. Some recent incidents in India and the neighboring countries prove that how much dangerous these organisations are. First if the Mahatma Gandhi case be considered it will be found that murderer before murdering Mahatma was motivated and counseled by some people those who are attached with an organisation which believed in some thought of extreme. Secondly, the murder case of Smt. Indira Gandhi murderers belongs to a part of religion of orthodox. Again, in case of murder of Rajiv Gandhi the group of murderer was trained by their counsellor motivator. All these organisations have teachers, courses everything and they are parallel organisation of Govt. Sometimes their activity is more than Govt. organisation and institute. Even also these terrorist organisations have sophisticated scientific laboratory and well educated resources persons. The very recent incident at Khagragarh, Bardwan, W. B. proves the fact. The most interesting fact is when the two terrorists were dying then their wives were busy to destroying the confidential papers, documents and while public was trying to rescue the victims, their wives prevented them from entering the room. It is clear that these two women are fully inhuman in nature and this type of behavior is unexpected from a normal person. This behavior shown by these women is the result of rigorous training imparted by their teachers of that orthodox ideology who counselled them to do any mischievous works easily and normally without any hesitation and compunction. This is another type of counselling, done successfully by the terrorists.
‘To forgive the enemy, ‘this word is harmful for jib dharma (Religion of Life) but excellence for manab dharma (Human Being).*10 ‘‘The grace of atma can never be gauged, you can tell how many foes you have killed, but how many forgive can never be gauged.’’*11 Prof Khitimohan Sen in his writings “Madhya Juger Sadhner Dhara” express some lines of kobi Rajabba.
‘Sab sach miloi so sanch holo na so jhut
Jon Rajabba anchi kohi bhabai rahi bhabi root’*12
(It is truth which union with all truth, and not dirimilarily discord is false, Rajabba said this is so pure that either you may pleased or you may be angry.)
Body can be purified through water but mind through truth. One day Brahman Guru Ramdas go away from his pupil and embracing ferocious Nava, Muslim Mohammedan weaver Kavir, tanner Rabidas, on that day society outcaste him but at that movement he himself uplifted to the state of big society of universe i.e., Humanist. Ramdas alone hit the base of the orthodox society removing all evil from mind. When impure things, dust or any garbage removed from mind then it will be free. To remove load from mind of counsellee and given relief is the first duty of the counsellor. Therefore, Guru Ramdas was not only a great Humanist but also a good counsellor.
CHAPTER-4
PRACTICAL APPROACH AND RETURN OF RESULTS
(Case Studies by some Indian Humanist Counsellors)
Our dharma shastra teaches us that during the time war, who is not in chariot and who is on contact with the earth, the opposite charioteer who is in the battlefield will never through his weapons to kill his opponent party or an opposer. But this was not happened in case of ware of the Mahabharata where Lord Krishna advised, irritate and aggravate, insist Arjuna to thrown his weapons to killed Karna, when chariot of Karna was failed in the mud, and he was not in chariot and became perplexity and aghast and was trying to remove the wheel of chariot from the muddy soil. At that time Arjuna with the advice of Krishna thrown his arms and weapons to killed Karna and Karna lost his life.
In our shastra it is advice to all of us that not to kill who are not participating in the war, which is in sorrow. Lord Krishna irritates Arjuna to killed Mahatma Vishma who left his arms in the battlefield. Not only that he was also advised to killed Dronacharya, who was in sorrow hearing the news that his son Aswathama died in the battle field as declared by Judhisthir, that ‘Aswathama Hata Iti Go-jo’ with the advice of Lord Krishna. Therefore, from our civic and commonsense we can never say that Lord Krishna violet the rules of humanism.
In our dharma shastra it is advised not to throw your arms and weapons to kill other who is in the battlefield not with you but with others.
In the Treta Yuga, Lord Ramchandra who was the 3rd person, in the war between the Bali and his younger brother Sugriv, throw his arms to killed Bali which is not only the violation of the rules of war but also against the dharma shastra and humanism. So, it indicates the inhumanity of Lord Ramchandra. What Ramchandra did only for his wife Sita who was under Ravana at Lanka during that time, this type of work proves not only the selfishness of Ramchandra but also express the inhumanity.
“The spiritual Astrology teaches us that the saints and the seers, the wise and the mystic can rule their stars, the ordinary people obey them” (Astrology – X Royed, P-50). Jataka (Lord Ram) was unable to rule his stars, so we can’t say him as an extra ordinary person. He unable to overcome his ‘Dhira Karma’ and he behaves not human (inhuman) in nature for some times. The great poet William Shakespeare what he has written is absolutely true.
“It is the stars the stars above us
Govern our conditions”.
‘Love is the religion of hero and violence is the religion of terrorist, coward and villain. The main recognition of the man is that he is a creator’. But neither the Hitler nor the Mussolini was never be a creator but they are destructor and inhuman in nature. And for that they were violated all human rights and abuse their power to profane humankind and for that they killed many people and through their violence and the whole world became restless.
In this connection the last discussion between the great humanists Nobel awarded Rabindranath Tagore and Mussolini at Rome on evening dtd. 13.6.1926 before left Rome by Tagore is relevant. Tagore’s views, ‘Material, wealth and power cannot make a country immortal, she must contribute something which is great and which is for everybody, and which does not merely glorify her own self.’ Mussolini did not reply and keeps silent because it was known to him that ‘Idealists and humanists are always think and express such.’ He was neither idealist not the humanist, so the advice and sermon from Tagore was meaningless to him. Tagore expresses his view in that way ‘Man is his fullness is not powerful but perfect.’ Perhaps it was known to him (Tagore) that Mussolini will not accept and followed his suggestions. Yet, he performed his duty because he believed in the ideology that ‘If the people be hard of hearing, yet, hymn of truth must be utter and narrate’. In this case the humanistic approach of counseling from the end of Tagore become failure, and ultimate result of Mussolini and Italy after 2nd World ware is known to all.
People say ‘Nah Papey Patipapo Sath’- You should never commit sin or take revenge against him who is against you, immoral or religious offence to do harm’. But it can never be said that it is an advice of a mad and this is called humanism. The implementation of such theory in life is very difficult and depends upon the nature of the person.
While Tagore was in global tour, he acquainted the people everywhere with the folklore of Bengal, particularly, Baul songs and its illiterate artists. As a result, philosopher like Professor Sylvain Levi showed earnest eagerness towards Baul songs and Baul sects where humanistic approach of counseling is hidden. Tagore has spent a lot of time to listen to Baul songs in painful environment of the district of Birbhum. The main object behind that toilsome endeavor is to place native culture and tradition before the eyes of the people of the world.
On date 19.12.1925 when Rabindranath had delivered his Presidential address before highly educated persons in a meeting of first session of the Indian Philosophical Congress in Calcutta University, he had spoken about the Baul sect. he said, “The Baul sects have come from such class of family who are considered uneducated in prevalent meaning. Once I asked some Bauls to write some of their songs. I have noticed that at first they felt embarrassed to write, however when they have ventured to write, I have disappointed to interpret the passage; because the spelling layout of letters – all are weak. Baul poets have their own spiritual performance or “Dehotattwo” (দেহতত্ত্ব, Spiritual Physiology) which is very abstruse and difficult to access; because their spiritual performance is based on the perception of transcendentalism.”*13
A wonderful relationship between Tagore and Baul Darbesh (mendicant) developed. The development of such relationship is possible because Tagore realized and perceived abstruse object hidden in the songs of Baul where enriched materials of counseling is hidden with humanistic approach. In this connection Dr.Sukumar Sen says “The joint influence of Kirtan and Baul system made ‘Gitanjali-Gitali so unique.”*14 Really, both Gitanjali and Gitali are so unique for counselling.
In 1930, when Rabindranath visited Russia (USSR), he found Csarist regime vanished in oblivion and in its place the Communist regime gripped the entire country when Lenin was no more in the world. The Communist economy and administration banned all types of spiritual activities in Russia. Having seen the socioeconomic condition and the total situation of this country and with consultation with all types of citizens, thinkers and also with the leaders he expressed his attitude through a Baul song:
“নিঠুর গরজি,
তুই কি মানসমুকুল ভুজবি আগুনে ?
তুই ফুল ফুটাবি বাস ছুটাবি সবুর বিহনে ।
দেখনা আমার পরম গুরু সাঁই
সে যুগযুগান্তে ফুটায় মুকুল তাড়াহুড়া নাই
তোর লোভ প্রচন্ড, তাই ভরসা দণ্ড –
এর আছে কোন উপায়।“ *15
(Human qualities are compared with blossom and fragrance of flowers. One cannot make flowers blossom and scatter fragrance without the sun rays. All efforts of, to blossom flowers in artificial environment will be fruitless endeavor. Can you not perceive how our Supreme Lord ages after ages make flowers blossom without hurry-scurry? Your greed is stupendous, so your expectation will be foiled. Is there any way?)
In this song, the Baul intends to say that before imposing any views and decision, one should give more prominence on human nature. If it is not to be done, the views and decision so imposed will be equivalent to violence, forcible occupation, and painful action. He expressed his views about this song to the Russian leaders, but the Russian leaders did not pay heed to the sermon of that song. As a result, the present condition of Russia is known to all. It is in breaking point after about seventy years of socialistic rules. The counseling of Tagore failed in this case.
In 26th May, 1924 Tagore reached Japan, at that time Japan was in quite trouble and one of them was natural calamity like earth quake, the diplomatic relation between America and Japan regarding the rights on the Pacific ocean, political and economical unrest in the society due to extreme increase of population in such small area like Japan. Tagore realised the matter of problems and feel that there is a temptation in the Japanese and advise not to be irritate due to narrow and ill behavior of America. Tagore’s psychological reasonable and intuitive thought is like that ‘when any people misbehave and /or unjust with other then naturally the human adversary normally revolt and protest. At that moment it is not possible to do respect to the high moral thought.’ Tagore directly criticised about the misbehavior of Japan towards China and Korea, two neighbors. Tagore said - “I have deep love for you as a people but when as a nation you have your dealings with other nations you can also be deceptive, cruel and efficient in handling those methods in which the western nations show such mastery.’’*16
Gurudev Rabindranath visited Japan before 8 years ago during the time of First World War and at that time Tagore criticised the greediness of Japan regarding forcefully attacking and acquiring other country. Second times Tagore repeated the same thing what he said before, - ‘If you must have peace, you will have to fight the spirit of this demon Nation.’*17 What Tagore said was published in the topic ‘Jati o Janasadharan,’ Parabashi, as follows
“নেশনের এই সমস্ত সৃষ্টি – ধ্বংসসাধনের ও ধনবৃদ্ধির যন্ত্রপাতি – কূটরাজনীতির প্রকাশ্য ও গোপন আচরণ । এই-সবের মূল্য কী ? ইহাদের সম্মুখে নৈতিকবন্ধন পরাভূত এবং পরস্পরের মধ্যে ভ্রাতৃভাব বিনষ্ট । এগুলি গ্রহণ করিতে আপনারা প্রলুব্ধ হইতেছেন, অথবা আপনাদিগকে প্রায় বাধ্য করা হইতেছে । ... আমি জাপানবাসী আপনাদিগকে সতর্ক করিয়া দিতে আসিয়াছি যে জাপানে বসিয়া আমি ন্যাশন্যালিজমের বিরুদ্ধে বক্তৃতা লিখিয়াছিলাম এবং এমন সময় লিখিয়াছিলাম যখন লোকে আমার মতামত উপহাস করিয়াছিল । ... আর একবার আমি আপনাদিগকে এই কথা স্মরণ করাইয়া দিতে আসিয়াছি । ... জাপান তাহার প্রকৃত স্বরূপ খুঁজিয়া বাহির করুক – যে স্বরূপ কেবল পরের নিকট হইতে শিক্ষা গ্রহণ করিবে না । নিজের জগৎ সৃষ্টি করিবে, যে জগৎ মানুষকে বাহ্য যাহা দিবার তাহা দিতে ঔদার্য দেখাইবে । আপনাদের মহত্ত্ব স্বীকার করিয়া এশিয়ার সমস্ত জাতি গর্বান্বিত হউক; সে মহত্ত্ব পরজাতিকে দাস করিয়া রাখার উপর যেন প্রতিষ্ঠিত না হয়, কেবলমাত্র নিজেদের জন্য অর্থ আহরণের উপর যেন ভিত্তি না থাকে – সে অর্থ সর্বকালের মানব-কর্তৃক গৃহীত হয় না এবং ঈশ্বর তাহা প্রত্যাখ্যান করেন ।”*18
It is fact that the Japanese ruler had no intuitive power to realise, understand, and no tract and judgment power, no inner vision and also no faith upon such learned Noble awarded man for that people of Japan have to expiate. “এমন শরীর কোথাও দেখি নি, এমন কাজও না । ...মাথা থেকে পা পর্যন্ত কোথাও অনিচ্ছা, অবসাদ বা জড়ত্বের লেশমাত্র লক্ষণ দেখা গেল না । ... চীন সুদীর্ঘকাল ... পূর্ণভাবে কাজ করতে শিখেছে; ... চীনের এই শক্তি আছে বলেই আমেরিকা চীনকে ভয় করেছে – কাজের উদ্দমে চীনকে সে জিততে পারে না, গায়ের জোরে তাকে ঠেকিয়ে রাখতে চায় ।
এই এতবড়ো একটা শক্তি যখন ... আধুনিক কালের বাহনকে পাবে, অর্থাৎ যখন বিজ্ঞান তার আয়ত্ত হবে, তখন পৃথিবীতে তাকে বাধা দিতে পারে এমন কোন শক্তি আছে ? তখন তার কর্মের প্রতিভার সঙ্গে তার উপকরণের যোগসাধন হবে । এখন যেসব জাতি পৃথিবীর সম্পদ ভোগ করছে তারা চীনের সেই অভ্যুত্থানকে ভয় করে, সেই দিনকে তারা ঠেকিয়ে রাখতে চায়।’’*19

পঞ্চ ইন্দ্রিয় তার প্রজা
কথাই মানে না ।’
বাউল তার এই গানের মধ্যে আমাদের শরীরে যে পাঁচটি ইন্দ্রিয় (চক্ষু, কর্ণ, নাসিকা, জিহ্বা ও ত্বক) তার মধ্যে মনকেই সর্বশ্রেষ্ঠ বলেছে । তাই মানুষকে বুঝতে গেলে তার মনকে বুঝতে হবে । মনকে না বুঝলে মানুষ অধরাই থেকে যায়, জানা সম্পূর্ণ হয় না । ওপর থেকে দেখে মানুষকে সম্পুর্ণ জানা যায় না । মানুষের মনের গতি প্রকৃতি অতি বিচিত্র । মনকে বশে আনতে পারলে সব কিছু করা সম্ভব । মানসিক ভাবে সুস্থ মানুষ অসাধ্য সাধন করতে পারে । জীবনে যারা লব্ধ প্রতিষ্ঠিত তাদের মানসিক গঠন অসাধারণ । সাধক রামপ্রসাদ মানব জীবনকে নিয়ে বলেছেন –
“মনরে কৃষি কাজ জানো না
এমন মানব জমিন রইল পতিত
আবাদ করলে ফলতো সোনা”
আইন্সটাইন, রবিন্দ্রনাথ, নিউটনের মত ব্যক্তিরা আমাদের কাছে প্রণম্য । দার্শনিক চিন্তা ছিল বলে আইন্সটাইন ছাব্বিশ বছর বয়সে যখন চাকরির জন্য হন্যে হয়ে ঘুরছেন সেই বেকারিত্যের মধ্যে তাঁর বিখ্যাত “থিওরি অফ রিলেটিভিটি” আবিষ্কার করেন । এটা তাঁর দৃঢ় মানসিকতার পরিচয় । রবিন্দ্রনাথের জীবন নিয়ে আলোচনা করলে দেখা যায় সন্তান হারানোর পর পিতা রবিন্দ্রনাথ যে ভগবত চিন্তার মধ্যে দিয়ে গীতাঞ্জলি রচনা করেন, এটা তাঁর দৃঢ় মানসিকতার পরিচয় । শুধুমাত্র সন্তান হারানো নয়, সাংসারিক বিবাদ, বিশ্বভারতীর অর্থকষ্ট – এ সমস্তকে উপেক্ষা করে সাহিত্য এবং ব্রহ্মসঙ্গীত রচনার মধ্য দিয়ে সমস্ত মানবজাতিকে গীতাঞ্জলি উপহার দেন । তাই মানুষের মন এমনই একটা জিনিষ তাকে অবশ্যই ভাল ভাবে জানতে হবে । বাউল দর্শনে মনস্তত্বকে সবচেয়ে বেশি প্রাধান্য দেয় । এটি জৈন ধর্মের দর্শনকেও সমর্থন করে । জৈন ধর্মের দর্শন ব্যপক অহিংসাকে সমর্থন করে, তাই জৈনদের সাথে কারও বিরোধ হয় না ।
এটা খুবই আশ্চর্য, হিবার্ট বক্তৃতার পর রবিন্দ্রনাথ ও আইন্সটাইনের মধ্যে একান্তে যে আলোচনা হয় তা ছিল জৈন ধর্মের দর্শনের উপর । অথচ রবীন্দ্রনাথ ছিলেন হিন্দু (ব্রাহ্ম) আর আইন্সটাইন ছিলেন ইহুদি । দুজনের দার্শনিক চিন্তা ও মনস্তত্ত্ব একসাথে মিলেমিশে একাকার হয়ে গেছে ।
কাউন্সিলিং করতে গেলে মনস্তত্ত্ব জানতে ও বুঝতে হবে । এটা কোন বইতে পাওয়া না যেতে পারে । ঠাকুর শ্রীরামকৃষ্ণ কোন বই পড়েননি, কিন্তু তাঁর মত কাউন্সিলার ভূভারতে বিরল । কথামৃতের লেখক শ্রী ম যখন আত্মহত্যার জন্যে প্রস্তুত তখন তাঁর দেখা হয় ঠাকুর শ্রীরামকৃষ্ণের সাথে, কথাও হয় । এর পর ওনার আর আত্মহনন করা হয় নি । তিনি ঠাকুরের বাণী, বক্তৃতা সব কিছু লিখে রাখতেন – পরে যা “শ্রীরামকৃষ্ণ কথামৃত” নামক গ্রন্থ রূপে প্রকাশিত হয় । ঠাকুর এবং শ্রী ম’র মধ্যে যে কথাবার্তা হয় সেটি কাউন্সিলিং ছাড়া আর কি ! এই “কথামৃত” গ্রন্থটি কাউন্সিলারদের কাছে কাউন্সিলিং’এর গীতা, কোরান, বাইবেল, ত্রিপীটক, গ্রন্থসাহেব ইত্যাদি ।
মহাভারতের যুদ্ধ হত না যদি না অর্জুন গাণ্ডীব ধরতেন । তিনি যখন গাণ্ডীব ত্যাগ করলেন তখন শ্রীকৃষ্ণ কাউন্সিলিংএর মাধ্যমে তাঁকে যুদ্ধে রাজি করালেন । শ্রীকৃষ্ণ অর্জুনের মনস্তত্ত্বকে সঠিক ভাবে বুঝে ছিলেন এবং তাঁকে বিশ্বরূপ দর্শনের মাধ্যমে তাঁকে ধর্মযুদ্ধে রাজি করিয়েছিলেন । এই কাউন্সিলিং থেকেই শ্রীমদ্ভগবদ্গীতার উৎপত্তি ।
আবার ব্যর্থ কাউন্সিলিং’এর উদাহরণ এবং আলোচনাও প্রাসঙ্গিক । গৌতম বুদ্ধ যখন সংসার ত্যাগ করে ঘুরতে ঘুরতে বিহারের (এখনকার ঝাড়খণ্ডের) হাজারিবাগ জেলায় ইটখোরিতে এসেছেন তখন তাঁর পিতা শুদ্ধধন খোঁজ করতে করতে সেখানে এসে তাঁর দেখা পান । গৌতম তখন চিরাগ ধারন করে সাধনায় ব্যস্ত । পিতার সঙ্গে তাঁর কথাবার্তা হয় কিন্তু শুদ্ধধন ব্যর্থ মনোরথ হয়ে ফিরে আসেন । এখানে পিতার কাউন্সিলিং ব্যর্থ হয় । হতাশ হয়ে বলেন “ম্যাইনে ইত্ত’কো খো দিয়া” (I lost my itta). এই “ইত্ত” কথা অপভ্রংশ হতে হতে আজ “ইটখোরী” রূপে পরিচিত । যদিও এখন একটি কালী মন্দির দেখা যায় কিন্তু প্রকৃতপক্ষে এটি বুদ্ধ মন্দির ছিল । কালের পরিহাসে এটি এখন হিন্দু মন্দির । বুদ্ধ বৌদ্ধত্ব প্রাপ্তির আশায় বিভিন্ন জায়গায় বসে সাধনা করেন, কিন্তু গয়াতে নিরঞ্জনা বা ফল্গু নদী তীরে সাধনায় সিদ্ধি লাভ করেন । কিন্তু প্রথমে যে স্থানে তিনি সাধনায় বসেন সেটি ছিল বর্তমান ইটখোরীর এই হিন্দু মন্দির ।
শ্রী চৈতন্য মহাপ্রভু বৈষ্ণব ধর্মের জন্য যখন গৃহত্যাগ করেন তখন তাঁর মা শচিমাতা এবং স্ত্রী বিষ্ণুপ্রিয়া কান্নায় ভেঙ্গে পড়েন । তখন পুরবাসীরা নিমাইকে প্রশ্ন করে কোন উত্তর পেলেন না । তখনকার সমাজের মাতৃকুল যে প্রশ্ন করেছিল তা একটি ভাওইয়া গানের মধ্যে সুন্দর ভাবে ব্যক্ত –
“সন্ন্যাসী না হইও নিমাই রে
মাকে ছাড়িয়া
তোর মা যে ঘরে রবে কাঁদিয়া কাঁদিয়া রে ।
শাস্ত্র পড়িয়া নিমাই সংসার বুঝাও বড়
নিজে কেনে অবুঝ হইয়া মাকে তুমি ছাড় রে ।
সোনা দামী হীরা দামী, আরো দামী মণি
তাহার চাইতে অধিক বাছা মাও বড় জননী রে ।
“সন্ন্যাসী না হইও নিমাই রে”
এই কাউন্সিলিং নিমাইকে তাঁর অভীষ্ট লক্ষ থেকে টলাতে পারেনি । যেমনটি পারেনি গৌতম বুদ্ধকে । এখন কেন এমন হয় ? মহাকবি শেক্সপীয়ার মানব জীবনের নাট্য রচনার সুখ দুঃখময় জীবন চিন্তনে শুভাশুভ কর্মফল সম্পর্কে জ্যোতিষকে আশ্রয় করেছেন। তাঁর রচিত “Twelfth Night” নাটকে দ্বিতীয় অঙ্কে পঞ্চম দৃশ্যে নায়কের উক্তি এখানে প্রাসঙ্গিক “Some are born great, some achieve greatness and some have greatness thrust upon them.” এখানে গৌতম বুদ্ধ এবং শ্রী চৈতন্যদেবের ক্ষেত্রে শেক্সপীয়ারের কথায় “Some are born great…” এই কথাটি খাটে । তাই মহামানব বুদ্ধ ও শ্রী চৈতন্যদেবের ক্ষেত্রে কাউন্সিলিং কোন কাজ করেনি । কারণ তাঁরা বুঝেছিলেন মানব সমাজের কল্যাণের জন্যই তাঁরা জন্মেছেন । মানুষকে নতুন পথ দেখাতেই তাঁদের জন্ম । তাঁদের কাছে আত্মসুখ পথের ধুলো । তাই তাঁরা বিশ্ব বিধাতার ডাকে নিজেদের উৎসর্গ করেছেন । রবীন্দ্রনাথ তাঁর “চিত্রা” কাব্যগ্রন্থে “এবার ফিরাও মোরে” কবিতায় খুব সুন্দর ভাবে ব্যক্ত করেছেন ।
“মহাবিশ্বজীবনের তরঙ্গেতে নাচিতে নাচিতে
নির্ভয়ে ছুটিতে হবে, সত্যেরে করিয়া ধ্রুবতারা ।
মৃত্যুরে করি না শঙ্কা । দুর্দিনের অশ্রুজলধারা
মস্তকে পড়িবে ঝরি — তারি মাঝে যাব অভিসারে
তার কাছে, জীবনসর্বস্বধন অর্পিয়াছি যারে
জন্ম জন্ম ধরি । কে সে ?
জানি না কে । চিনি নাই তারে —
শুধু এইটুকু জানি — তারি লাগি রাত্রি-অন্ধকারে
চলেছে মানবযাত্রী যুগ হতে যুগান্তর-পানে
ঝড়ঝঞ্ঝা-বজ্রপাতে, জ্বালায়ে ধরিয়া সাবধানে
অন্তরপ্রদীপখানি । শুধু জানি যে শুনেছে কানে
তাহার আহ্বানগীত, ছুটেছে সে নির্ভীক পরানে
সংকট আবর্তমাঝে, দিয়েছে সে বিশ্ব বিসর্জন,
নির্যাতন লয়েছে সে বক্ষ পাতি মৃত্যুর গর্জন
শুনেছে সে সংগীতের মতো ।...

রাজপুত্র পরিয়াছে ছিন্ন কন্থা, বিষয়ে বিরাগী
পথের ভিক্ষুক । মহাপ্রাণ সহিয়াছে পলে পলে
সংসারের ক্ষুদ্র উৎপীড়ন, বিঁধিয়াছে পদতলে
প্রত্যহের কুশাঙ্কুর, ...
...তারি পদে মানী সঁপিয়াছে মান,
ধনী সঁপিয়াছে ধন, বীর সঁপিয়াছে আত্মপ্রাণ; ...
...শুধু জানি
সে বিশ্বপ্রিয়ার প্রেমে ক্ষুদ্রতারে দিয়া বলিদান
বর্জিতে হইবে দূরে জীবনের সর্ব অসম্মান;
সম্মুখে দাঁড়াতে হবে উন্নত মস্তক উচ্চে তুলি
যে মস্তকে ভয় লেখে নাই লেখা, দাসত্বের ধূলি
আঁকে নাই কলঙ্কতিলক ।...”
কাউন্সিলিং এবং গৌতম বুদ্ধ
গৌতম বুদ্ধের পূর্বজন্ম নিয়ে রচিত গল্প কাহিনী ঈশান ঘোষের জাতকের গল্প থেকে জানা যায় বুদ্ধ যখন তাঁর জন্ম প্রচার করছেন একদিন এক মা তার মৃত শিশুকে নিয়ে বুদ্ধের কাছে এসে সেই শিশুর প্রাণ ফিরিয়ে দেওয়ার জন্য আর্তি জানালেন । কারণ বুদ্ধকে সবাই ভগবান রূপে সবাই মানত । বুদ্ধ সেই মায়ের আর্তি শুনে তাকে বললেন সেই বাড়ির থেকে এক মুঠো মাটি নিয়ে আসতে যে বাড়িতে কোন দিন কেউ মারা যায় নি । সেই মাতা গোটা নগর পরিক্রমা করে অবশেষে ব্যর্থ হয়ে ফিরে এলেন । তখন বুদ্ধ তাকে জন্ম মৃত্যুর বৃত্তান্ত সবিস্তারে ব্যাখ্যা করে বোঝালেন যে এটাই প্রাকৃতিক নিয়ম। এটি বুদ্ধের দ্বারা সেই সন্তানহারা মায়ের কাউন্সিলিং । বুদ্ধ প্রথমে ওনাকে কোন কাউন্সিলিংই করেননি - তিনি একটি মাত্র কাজ দিয়েছিলেন । বুদ্ধ প্রথমেই যদি কিছু বোঝাতে যেতেন তাতে কিছু লাভ হত কিনা যথেষ্ট ছিল । তিনি সন্তানহারা মায়ের মনস্তত্ত্ব সঠিক ও গভীর ভাবে উপলব্ধি করে সঠিক পথ নির্দেশিকা দিয়েছিলেন । Psychology’র জ্ঞান এবং অভিজ্ঞতা না থাকলে সহিক কাউন্সিলিং করা সম্ভব নয় । এক্ষেত্রে বুদ্ধ একজন প্রকৃত কাউন্সিলার ।
কাউন্সিলিং এবং গুরু নানক
একবার এক ব্যক্তি তার ছেলেকে নিয়ে গুরু নানকের কাছে এলেন । তার ছেলে খুবই ছোট কিন্তু তার প্রচণ্ড সুগার (মধুমেয়) । ছেলেটি খুব চিনি খায় – কারও কথা শুনে না । গুরু নানক সব শুনে তাদের ১৫ দিন বাদে আসতে বললেন । ১৫ দিন পর পিতা পুত্র এলে গুরু নানক তাদের কথা শুনে আবার ১৫ দিন পর আসতে বললেন। এইভাবে দুই তিন বার আসার পর শেষে শিশুটির পিতা যখন হতাশায় ভুগছেন তখন গুরু নানক ছেলেটিকে বললেন “তুমি চিনি খাওয়া ছেড়ে দাও, নাহলে তোমার ক্ষতি হবে ।” তখন ছেলেটির পিতা গুরু নানককে বললেন যে এতবার না ঘুরিয়ে এই কথাটি তিনি আগেই বলতে পারতেন; আগে কেন বলেননি তা তিনি জানতে চাইলেন । তখন নানক তাকে বললেন তিনিও প্রচণ্ড চিনি খেতেন, অনেক চেষ্টা করার পর তা তিনি ছাড়তে পেরেছেন । যা তিনি নিজে পারেন না তা তিনি অপরকে পরামর্শ দেবেন কি করে ? ‘আপনি আচরি ধর্ম অপরে শেখায় ।’ তিনি যখন চিনি ছাড়তে পেরেছেন তখনই তার অধিকার জন্মেছে শিশুটিকে বলার ।
এই প্রসঙ্গে পশ্চিমবঙ্গের এক সাস্থ্যমন্ত্রীর কাহিনী খুবই উল্লেখযোগ্য । ওই মন্ত্রী নিজে প্রচুর ধুমপান করতেন, তিনি ধুমপানের বিরুদ্ধে কি করে কথা বলবেন ? একটি মিটিং’এ তখনকার কেন্দ্রীয় সাস্থ্যমন্ত্রীর কাছ থেকে ধাক্কা খেয়ে রাজ্যের সাস্থ্যমন্ত্রী সারা জীবনের মত ধুমপান ছেড়ে দিয়েছেন । এও এক দৃষ্টান্ত – এক মন্ত্রীর দ্বারা আর এক মন্ত্রীর কাউন্সিলিং ।
কাউন্সিলিং এবং রবীন্দ্রনাথ
একবার অঙ্কের মাস্টারমশাই কণিকা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়’কে (মোহর) অঙ্ক না পারার জন্য খুব মার মেরেছেন । মোহর তখন শান্তিনিকতনের পঞ্চম শ্রেণীর ছাত্রী এবং আশ্রমবালিকা । তাকে কাঁদতে দেখে রবীন্দ্রনাথ যখন জানলেন যে অঙ্ক না পারার জন্য বালিকাটি মার খেয়েছেন তখন রবীন্দ্রনাথ তাকে স্নেহের দৃষ্টিতে জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন সে গান গাইতে পারে কি না । তার উত্তরে মোহর বলেছিল সেটা সে খুব ভাল ভাবেই পারে । তখন রবীন্দ্রনাথ তাকে আশ্বস্ত করলেন গানটা পারলেই হবে, অঙ্ক না পারলেও চলবে । মোহরের কান্না থামল । পরের ঘটনা বলাই বাহুল্য - কারণ রবীন্দ্রনাথ তাঁর অন্তঃদৃষ্টি দিয়ে দেখেছিলেন যে এই মেয়েটি কোন গাণিতিক না হয়ে একদিন বিখ্যাত সঙ্গীতজ্ঞ হবেন । এটাও একধরণের কাউন্সিলিং ।

3. Presence of Moon must be either in lagna or in the 7th house or it must be good aspect with lagna.
4. 5th lord must either aspect lagna or Moon or lagna lord.
5. Lagna lord may be in exaltation.
6. Jupiter must be either aspect lagna or Moon or lagna lord.
7. No malefic planet either present or aspect 9th and 5th house. (Exception in special case may be found with proper reason) i.e. Ketu is not a malefic planet when present in 9th house.
8. The Raj yoga karaka planet must be in exaltated in the horoscope.
9. Lagna lord, 5th lord, 9th must be strong and may be exaltated.
10. The native must be non-religious and inhuman in nature if any debilitation planet present in the 9th house or the 9th lord is either in the 6th, 8th or 12th house. The nature of native must be miser, selfish, non-religious and inhuman.
11. If the 9th lord be weak and any debilitation planet is in the 9th house and any malefic planet is in lagna and in the 5th house or is in the7th house. If Jupiter may be aspect with Rahu or in the same house the native may be inhuman in nature and he/she do any evil work and must be cruel in nature and never be kind hearted.
The humanism of a great man is no doubt a debatable matter. Topic discussed from present situation and from my personal thought and outlook. Actually, socio-economic conditions, situation and history during that time (Jugo) when the native was passing his/her lifetime are now not clear to us.
A person started to make ready a new passage or narrow lane for walking. Then there is enough persons seen who try to develop the lane to road, road to street and converted to high way. Regarding physiology counesellee is a patient to the counselor [who is a doctor] and so patient must have to give some relief and remedy. Physiologically counsellee have some characteristics i) either counselee is talkative or silent in mood, ii) suffering from insomnia, iii) unnecessary thinking and thinking repeatedly and not found solution iv) deficiency in Sodium and Potassium (blood test report), v) cell division in the brain hamper, toxic elements deposited in body (test of triglyceride) vii) counsellee must not be suffering from cough for long time, viii) bad food habit, xi) drugs or any bad habits like smoking, consume alcohol, ix) sleeping problems etc. Main problem rose due to the deficiency of oxygen in proper amount in the brain.

HUMANISTIC APPROACH OF COUNSELLING
AND MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE (AS AN ASTROLOGER)
Being a student of occult science (Astrology) I have tried to discuss about my personal experience regarding counselling as a student of this course. In our social system when a baby born the older person of the family moves to an Astrologer within 3 days of birth of newly born jataka to know about him/her, particularly that ‘is there any obstacles for surviving of newly born baby or not?’; and if any, then what protection should be measured. Astrologically, when a native came to the earth then unto 12 years, the role of Chandra is marak (cause of death). Senior family members of the newly born baby have taken prevention for good health of baby through puja-path, tantra-mantra-jantra, tabij-kabaj or in other way. This is a fully customs in Indian Hindu society. Indian Hindus have faith upon Astrology - day after day and year after year. Astrology teaches –
‘’Joshya nasti kholu janma patrika ja samasta suva suvo fala prakashni,
andha bhavati tasha jibanam dipa hina mandiram nishi.’’
[The native who has no janmo patrika (horoscope) from which all types of weal and woe can be known and expresses the life of native is like a temple without any lamp in the evening.] Therefore, in our country like India most of the people have more or less small (Tippon) and/or big size of janma patrika. This thought and believe of Indian society is very much depend upon Spiritual Astrology and religious base, and most not ignore this matter. Even also if we look to words western part of our world, the society of ancient Greece and Arabian country like Missor, Iraqi, Iran, Turaska also believe and develop Astrology. The Latin American people also depend upon and develop Astrology. Chinese people also had knowledge of Astrology during the time of Confucius before the birth of Lord Buddha. At present if we look to words USA, we will find that the satellites which were used for different purpose, NASA always calculate the proper time (muhurta) to move as per advice and suggestion of Astrologers, when such advice was not obey then un towards incidents happened so many times and hues amount of money and also life of astronauts fall in danger. This fact has been forecast in patrika. Regarding this subject about Astrology when Newton was asked that sir,’ do you believe in astrology’? Newton replied “I have studied this subject very little.” Regarding Astrology Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore express his experience through different writings (references enclosed*) sometimes good and sometimes bitter. According to the experience of Tagore -‘The person who believes in Astrology is full, but the people who don’t believe in Astrology are fuller than foolish.’

Now being a student of Astrology last 25 years I have studies so many horoscopes; but when counseling is concern my personal experience is full of sweet and sour; sometimes positive and sometimes negative. Two examples in each case are mentioned as follows:
Case -1: Native-A born on dtd. 30.3. 1963, 1.26 pm (IST) at Patna, Bihar. The horoscope (Jata Chakra) of native is:- KARKATA- (Lagna-8, Marks-9, Rahu-7); MAKARA- (Ketu-21, Sani- 23); KUMBHA- (Sukra-24); MINA- (Rabi-26, Budh-26, Guru-26); BRISH- (Chandra-4). Sannari Chakra- [Janma-4, Karma-13, Sanghatik-19, Samudoy-21, Binash-26, Manes- 1]; Karak Lagna- Singh; Karak-(Atma-Sani, Amarta -Moon).
This person-A, was came to my residence (to know about her future as he was in trouble) with his friend (Professor), who is also friend to me. Jataka came to me at that time when the Ascendant at that time of that place was in Kumbha 8th house of jataka this proves that jataka came to know about his death. The native was a Police Officer posting at Police Training Institute as an Principle because Jupiter of the jataka is in 9th house Mina, which causes guru-giri i.e. for the teaching, but lagna lord Moon is in the excelled house Brisha rashi in 11th house (provoked jataka for more and more income) and Rohini nakhatra causes (luxurious life style). This is the mental status of the jataka. Again, Saturn the 7th lord present in 7th house given dristi to the 9th house, i.e. house of luck, gurugiri ; lagna i.e. jataka himself; and 4th house i.e. house of landed property, conveyance (car) happiness etc. Actually, jataka had 80 bigha of fertile agricultural cultivated land, 3 cars and for another luxurious car the wife of jataka who is a Satarnian person insist her husband i.e. jataka and for more money and more property and for that jataka taken posting as an in charge of a police station where main view is to earn more money in illegal way. If we go to analyses the horoscope it is clear that the 11th lord Venous is in 8th house; and from Moon i.e. from Brish rashi 8th lord (the cause of death) juper is present in 11th house of Mina. Therefore, either from lagna or from rashi, income is the cause of death and/or vice versa. Again, the 6th lord (the cause of injury) Jupiter; 11th lord (the cause of income) Budh; 2nd lord (the cause of money) Sun; all are in Binash Nakhatra; Saturn and Rahu both have full dristhi upon them. From this point it is clear that money, income and injury are the root cause of destruction. Again, lagna the main point in the horoscope affected by Sani (the 7th & 8th lord which is maraca to the Karkata Lagna is the main cause of death), Jupiter (the 6th lord cause of injury), Rahu, Mangal fulfill all desire of death. Again, from Karak chakra it has been observed that the Karak lagna is Singha and Saturn is present in 6th house the house of injury and through his 3rd dristi influenced the 8th house and 8th lord Jupiter in Mina. Not only that through Kalsharpa jog jataka claimed in the top position and sudden fall from that position. And fulfill all desire of death. Atma karaka planet Sani and Ketu are in Makar rashi influence by Rahu and Mangal. Again, another cause of death is due to poisoning in body and also falls from higher place. When I have seen the horoscope I was confirmed about the death of jataka and for that I requested so many times not to take posting in field where public contact and action is present it will be danger to him, and it is better for him to do job for teaching (where there is no question of either public contact or action, no extra illegal income). Advice from my end to jataka was sermon that if any way jataka be posted at field then it is duty to refuse this offer, if his appeal be rejected then he should left the job gladly either voluntary retirement or resigned without any hesitation. But it is unfortunate jataka was motivated by his wife and joined the new assignment (posting at field for money i.e. for illegal income). My serious advice and suggestion was perhaps nothing but just jock to him for that he ignore my advice. But I have discharged my duty as an Astrologer as I remember the sermon of Gurudev Rabindranath to Mussolini. In this case “Counseling with my Humanistic approach, humanistic appeal and request to the native is failed, I feel myself as an unsuccessful counselor,” this type of incident happened with Rabindranath when his advice to Mussolini which was nothing but counseling was failed. Ultimatly, jataka lost his life as he is unable to overcome his destiny. Now when such incident happened? The dasha bhukti of Jupiter ended on 13.10.2004 and dasha bhukti of Sani stated on 13.10.2004 and gochar Sani moves from Mithun to Karkata on 06.9.2004 when the saray sati was ended and Sani dasha stated such painful incident was happened. Jupitor 6th lord, Mercury, Sani and Rahu or full dristhi of Rahu in 9th is the cause of death in the battled field which was happened with jataka-A.
Case-2 :- Jataka-B Born on dtd.-21.8.1998, 07.00 am (IST), Calcutta, JATA CHAKRA is as follows: Singha–Lagna-12, Rabi-10, Rahu-10; Brischik- ; Makar-Uranus(R)-22, Neptune(R)-21; Kumbha-Ketu-24; Mina-Jupiter(R)-25; Mesh- Sani-1; Karkat Mangal-8, Venus-8, Bud(R)-9, Moon-9. Sannari Chakra- Janma-9, Karma-18, Sanghatik-24, Samuday-26, Binash-4, Manash-6; Karak Lagna-Makar.
Jataka-B is born in Kalsharpa jogo. Ketu dasha start from the age of 10 years. Jataka during the Vimshotari dasha bhukti of Ketu-Jupitor (from dtd.13.10.2012 to 19.9.2013) jataka involved with guru chandelle works i.e. his life style has been changed. It is the time of adolescence period. Jataka involved in the sex and abuse his sex organ as guy. Jupitor the 8th lord represent sex present in 8th house as in retrograde condition and in his won nakhatra is highly strong and Ketu present in 7th house insist jataka to involve in sex. The jataka was ill-treated by an Astrologer who advice his father to were 2 stones Zircon (substitute of Dimond for Sukra) and Gomedh (for Rahu). Venus represents sex and Rahu represents vogue therefore, jataka in the teen age involved in enjoyment of sex- such nasty works and become a guy. The 2 stone promotes jataka to involve in homo sex. The father of the jataka was my friend, one day my friend informed me that his son (jataka) is unmindful and studding and told him that he will not be appeared in Metric Examination. It was very much shocked to my friend as a father. He came to me with date, time and place of birth after preparation of birth chart I suggest my friend not to wire the 2 stones given by the previous Astrologer and suggest him to wire one Panna (Emerald) and one Mukta or Moon-Stone. And on counselling jataka promise that he will engage him in study and will appeared in examination. And lastly he passed the examination with 82.5% marks. In this case “Humanistic approaches of Counselling become successful”. Here, my Astrological knowledge helps to diagnose the proper mental status of the jataka that what jataka is thinking and doing confidentially. Perhaps no any subject except Astrology can properly detect and diagnosed the mental status of jataka. Really, it is a big experience to me. In this way the knowledge of Astrology helps us for counsellor for counselling to solve many problems of our society, particularly at present critical socio-economic condition and situation.
Now question rose why counseling in case of Jataka-A failed and in case of Jataka-B successful? The counselling was done in the age of Jataka-A was 33-years but in case of Jataka-B were 15-years. A was mature but B was immature. Young mind is like soft mud but matured mind is hard mud or rigged. Therefore, to tackled B is easier than A.

According to ‘History’ the ideology of great man is continuing generation by generation through men. The great men have represented themselves through the history of men. This thought was symbolized as ‘Maha-Manab’ by Nobel awarded Rabindranath Tagore.
In the Gita it has been expressed that ‘ Dharma Sansthapthanathya Sambhabhami Jujey Jujey’ The violation of human rights-‘humanism’ has been observed from the very age old time, when man became civilize. During the time of ‘Treta’ Ramchandra, the great king of Ayodhya (who is now a days respect by the people) violated the humanism during the time of were between Bali and Sugriv . Next, in the ‘Dapara’, Lord Krishna who is also respected now a days, also violated the basic norms of humanism at the battlefield during the time ware of Mahabharata. The violation of humanism observed maximum during ‘Kali Jugha’, particularly during 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th century. In 19th century, the doctrine of humanism of French philosopher Auguste Comte was very popular throughout the world. In place of God, he places humanism. *1 The view about humanism by Comte is not point of our discussion. Our viewpoint is to discuss about the humanism of some great men (called ‘Maha-Manab’) and some world famous personality through their birth charts (horoscope) in light of Astrology. Although the people respect some, yet, all of them never are honored as a real humanist in true sense. Among them a few can be recognized as a humanist. Now the question raised why they are not humanist? What are the minimum criteria for a person that he may be recognized as a humanist? Now the fist questions arise - What is humanism?
The word ‘Humanism’ comes from ‘Latin’ world ‘Humanitas’, which means to search the perfection of one self. It always inspires to raise oneself, s strength.
About humanism S. Radhakrishnan expressed his views that “God is Supreme revolutionary. He is the master builder and so we are the servants of God, we must work for truth, for the truth which means the establishment of right relationships between man and man, community and community nation and nation.”*2
Human relationships are the mainspring of spiritual life. Man worships his God in all the true objects of man’s worship. Through love, man can understand others and realize the supreme in the heart of him.
Humanism related with the religion of man. About the Religion of Man - Prabhat Kumar Mukharjee express as his views in that way “We have heard Hindu’s religion, Muslim’s religion, Christian’s religion… … Generally, we define the ‘man’ in terms of cast or nationality - Brahman, Vaishya, Sudra – or blacksmith, potter, weaver and we know the nationality - as English, Russian, Japanese, Chinese, Generally people are habituated to this culture. Sometimes some great man, sages have come within us and hit on our such ignorance and have told about the universal man, who do not belong to any caste.”*3
The word ‘Religion’ comes from the Latin word ‘Religo’. It comes from religare (re-ligare = to bind back), i.e. who tightly bind together that is religion. In English ‘ligate’ means ‘tie up’. In Sanskrit ‘Dharma’ come from the world ‘Dhri’ and means, which grasp the whole.
The science does not mean the science of English, science of French, science of India; science is the science wherever it may be. In this way Dharma (religion) means man’s dharma or man’s religion. It never be the separate religion. If any special religion, which hits the man’s religion then it, must be clear that he is hindering the truth the untruth is functioning in intrigue, which is evil, and this is death. The religion of modern age is the ‘Religion of Man’, which called ‘Humanism’. *4
According to S. Radhakrishnan, “ Philosophy fails of its purpose and is unfaithful to its ideal if it assumes that particular religious beliefs should be accepted.” *4
Generally we called the religion as ‘Dharma’. ‘Dharma’ means perception’ or ‘perceptual realisation’. In other words, we can define it as ‘immediate awareness’ or ‘to see God face to face’. In West, philosophy is dependent on intellectual knowledge. But in East particularly in India, it is intuitive knowledge. This intuitive knowledge is one kind of modification of the intellectual knowledge.
Man’s philosophy is dependent upon his thinking of life and realization of ‘Universal Truth’. The truth is beauty and beauty is truth. Man is the worshiper of such truth. This truth has a universal picture. Therefore, ‘Inner Universal Truth’ is the man’s religion. Humanism is the religion of every man. Therefore, as a subject ‘Religioin of Man’ and ‘Humanism’ is more or less same, because religion of man is not a specific religion but it is based on humanism.
About the religion and humanism the great humanist Rebindranath Tagore express his views by given a nice example-“ Animal’s nature e.g., its livelihood is its religion. But in case of human beings, livelihood can never be the only his nature, humanity is his main characteristic. So ‘ Inner Universal Truth’ is man’s religion.”*5
Humanism is clearly revealed universality and sense of identify with all men, and revolt against all types of tyranny and injustice. Life is its fullness, in its exaltation of the human reason and the luminous quality of his faith and above all, in respect for the human personality is heeding towards completion.
Religion should never be based upon the Koran or the Puran, the Vedas or the Upanishad, the Bible or the Tripitaka, Granthasab or Gita, etc, it is on humanism. Religion of any person should be based on the man’s religion, not at the outside orbit of man. So religion should be centralizes on humanism and it must be root of man’s life. There are no higher religion than that of sympathy for all that lives. Love is the foundation of all religions.
Every person possesses a special something, which he calls ‘his religion’. A man’s religion does not consist of blind beliefs that obstruct our comprehension; rather, it is as man’s innermost truth, a creative force, a life-sense, greater than his materials sense.
Every man possesses a religious though. The main nature of the religion is non-material approach. Love, kindness, ahimsa all positive characteristics consist in the religion. Practically, religion is a universal power, which is related with finite and infinite, matter and consciousness. It is one kind of manifestation of soul, which is birth less, deathless and universal. There is no binding in the religion of man and humanism. Religion relates finite soul with the infinite soul and it washes out all the evils of main’s heart. That’s why it makes a man a ‘God man’.
Beauty and truth are related with religion and humanism. If we do not love the truth, then it is not possible for us to adopt it. We cannot bind the truth with any artificial binding. Ideal life is related with truthfulness and ‘Dharma’ is not beyond these characteristics. The idea of religion is not the same as like the traditional idea that possess by the common people. Human nature is the human religion. The real meaning of religion is the ‘nature’ or ‘characteristic’ of a thing. For example, the nature of fire is its heat and power of burning, the nature of water is to wet. In the same way, the nature of good religion is to do well to others and that of a bad religion is to do harm to others. The nature of selfishness is to express one’s love centering round oneself only, whereas the nature of benevolence is to express love for others.
About the humanism the famous Bengali poet Chandidas express his views in this way:
‘Sunoho Manush Bhai
Sabar Uporey Masush Satya
Tahar Uporey Nai.’
The theory of humanism is observed in every religion but some times the application on the society or the society or upon the ‘Human-Beings’ by powerful persons in their own way, which they demand the religion of that cast, society etc. But actually this is not the true religion this may be said as dogma. Rabindranath expresses his view is that way-‘…………The felling of man is not equal everywhere and in some where it is prevent and for that all man are till not recognized as a real man’. The Vaishnava and Baul, Sufi and Fakir, Sant strictly followed the rules of humanism. Of them there is no any sadhana except Baul in the human society in our world who strictly followed, obey and respect the humanism, and for that there is no conflict and clashed between the Baul and other people of different religions although there is a conflict and clashed between and among the other religions.
The inhumanity within a man arise when he thinks in his mind and draws a difference between worshiper and himself, and man and God, and ultimately man and man. Rabindranath express his views in the Manusher Dharma is this way-“A worshipper of God is no better than a beast if he worships such God whose entity is quite different from the entity of the worshipper; because such imagination of God leads the worshipper to get himself chained by narrow outlook of life. His own created God drive him out from his own entity.’’*6
In their songs, the Baul expresses their realization of God in the same way as sages in the ‘Upanishds’ did; Rabindranath expressed his cogitation in his Hibbert Lecture, ‘The Religion of Man’. In the typed manuscript of ‘The Religion of Man’, a few lines of the Baul song (in Bengali) were jotted down by his own handwriting where the main theory of humanism is hidden.
যেমন ভাবন তেমনি ভূবন
ভাবে ভবে মাখা মাখি ।
মানুষ নইলে কোথায় দাঁড়ায়,
অচেতনে সবই হারায়,
যখন মিলবে সাড়া তোর সে সাড়ায়,
বুঝবি তখন পাকাপাকি ।
“The world is as it is in our thought, the thought and existence are commingled. Everything would be lost in unconsciousness if may ware naught, and when response come to your own call you know the meaning of reality.”*7
The theory of humanism of Baul is also somewhat analogy with the philosophy, religion and humanism of Jainism.
In the Jain religion and philosophy, it is said that different persons old the views of the ‘Absolute Truth Theory’, from different aspects, but the deduction of each individual’s view carries some sort of truth. This very view of the philosophy of Jain religion is found to be in harmony with that of great humanist Rabindranath, where he states that he also does not view God as separate entity from that of him. “The lover seeks his own other self in his beloved.”* 8. Tagore carries this truth in his various writings. These are the components of identify in the philosophy, religion and humanism of Rabindranath. The difficulty lies in these circumstances, so it is how to present these spiritual cogitation of Tagore methodically.
By developing such theory day after day, year after year, how, why and when it has been stopped - a short answer of this question can be found from the jest of the close door discussions conference between the great humanist famous Scientist Albert Einstein and Noble Poet Rabindranath Tagore just after the Hibbert Lecture, which is as follows:
Tagore said, ‘When our universe is in harmony with man, the eternal, we know it as truth we fell it as beauty.’
Einstein answered ‘This is a purely human concepts of the universe.’
Rabindranath added in, ‘There can be no other conception. This world is a human world, the scientific fiew of it is also that of the scientific man.’
‘…………… if there be some truth which has no sensuous or relation to the human mind it will ever remain as nothing so long as we remain as human beings.’
A person in the world where he belongs to any cast and/or creed may be classified into two groups whether he is human or inhuman. Every man has it’s own religion. Such as Rabindranath has ‘Poet religion’, Ramkrishna has ‘Deb/Purahit religion’, Newton, Einstein have ‘Scientist religion’, Mussolini and Hitler have ‘Worrior religion, Chaitanya has ‘Vedantic religion’, Lord Krishna has ‘Political religion’. But they must be either human or inhuman in their character. So either humanity or inhumanity must be looked if we go through their horoscope.
The role of man in the society is different; he some times slows humanity and some times inhumanity in his short span in his life. For example, the great Empire Ashok in his life, at the early period he was a most inhuman person, but after the Kalinga War humanity developed in his mind and he become a great man. Opposite case also been seen in the so many persons mainly engaged in the different works particularly like politics and power. That also depends upon the dasha bhukti of the native. But as a whole when we go through the birth chart at a glance we can say that whether a person is human or inhuman.
“To killed the enemy is the religion of life, by overcoming this, man says, ‘to forgive the enemy’, which is unexpected. This is detrimental for the religion of life but enlistment of humanism.”*9

HUMANISM OF SOME WORLD FAMOUS PERSONALITY
(A CRITICAL STUDY AND DISCUSSION FROM SOME HOROSCOPE IN LIGHT OF ASTROLOGY).
We will discuss the horoscope of some renowned world famous personalities and critically studies regarding their humanity.
CASE NO.- 01
Our dharmo shastra teaches us that during the time war, who is not in chariot and who is on contact with the earth, the opposite charioteer who is in the battlefield will never through his weapons to kill his opponent party or an opposer. But this was not happened in case of ware of Mahabharata where Lord Krishna advised, irritate and aggravate, insist Arjuna to thrown his weapons to killed Karna, when chariot of Karna was failed in the mud, and he was not in chariot and became perplexity and aghast and was trying to remove the wheel of chariot from the muddy soil. At that time Arjuna with the advice of Lord Krishna thrown his arms and weapons to killed Karna and Karna lost his life.
In our shastra it is advice to all of us that not to kill who are not participate in the war, which is in sorrow. Lord Krishna irritates Arjuna to killed Mahatma Vishma who left his arms in the battlefield. Not only that he was also adviced to killed Dronacharya, who was in sorrow hearing the news that his son Aswathama died in the battle field as decleared by Judhistir, that ‘Aswathama Hata Iti Gaja’ with the advice of Lord Krishna. Therefore, from our civic and commonsense we can never say that Lord Krishna follows the rules of humanism. And we put Lord Krishna in the group of inhuman persons. Now question arise why Lord Krishna did such? If we go through the horoscope we will observed that Rahu who is the most non-religious planet present in the 5th house aspect the 9th houses, the house of dharma (religion). Mars the 7th and 12th Lord present in the 9th house and aspect by 8th Lord Jupiter. In case of Vrisha (Taurus) langna Mars is the malefic planet and marak, and Mars is a warrior planet. Again, Jupiter as a malefic and marak planet aspect the 9th house is not good. Therefore, native participated in the war for dharma and himself not been a humanist . The 9th Lord who is the responsible for dharma is in exaltation is good but in 6th house is also bad. 6th house is the house of enemy injury and aspect by malefic, ill-boding, non-religious Rahu through it’s 12th aspect. The cruel nature of the native was developed due to the aspect of malefic Rahu upon ascendant and on mind karka planet Moon, who is also in the Lagna. Rahu is also aspect on the Lagna Lord, and the 9th and 10th lord (Karmapati) Saturn. Again, Rahu is also with intellect karka planet Merecuty, Mercury the 5th lord responsible for intuition (future vision). Again, Rahu aspect on Mars the worrier planet. Sun is aspect by cruel planet Mars. The presence of Saturn in the 6th house insist native to be cruel (in nature), diplomat and adapt in affectedness.
So, how such a person become a humanist whose 9th lord is affected by malefic planet Rahu and and 9th house is expected by the 8th in lord and 12th lord? Therefore, although Krishna now a day may be respected and popular, but he was never be a humanist because he was cruel in nature and violated all norms of humanism during the time of war of Mahabharata.
CASE NO. 02
In our dharma shastra it is advice us not to throw your arms and weapons to killed other who is in the battlefield not with you but with others.
In the Treta Yuga, Lord Ramchandra who was the 3rd person in the war between the Bali and his younger brother Sugriv , throw his arms to killed Bali which is not only the violation of the rules of war but also against the dharmashastra and humanism. So it indicates the inhumanity of Lord Ramchandra. What Ramchandra did was only for his wife Sita who was under Ravana at Lanka during that time. This type of work proves not only the selfishness of Ramchandra but also express the inhumanity of him.
If we go through the horoscope of Lord Ram, it can seen that although the horoscope is no doubt a good horoscope, yet, there is some lacuna which can never be deny. The lagna and lagna lord is affected by malefic planet 8th lord Saturn. The 7th aspect of Mars on lagna and lagna lord irritate the native and loss of religious mind and attitude, and native mind become war crime. The presence of Ketu, which is malefic planet present in the 9th house, is not good for a humanist, and native actually become irreligious minded of humanism. Astrologically actually native became an irreverent person in the eye of humanist. The aspect of Rahu in the 4th house (the house of social work the works for others) is not good. The aspect of Rahu upon 4th lord or Ketu with Venus is not good that when Venus which is also a representative of dharma along with poisonous planet Ketu hamper the religions character of the native and native became a irreverent person. The aspect of Saturn upon 9th lord Jupiter changes the character as irreligious. So, inhumanity found in the birth chart or Ramchandra.Again, he (Ram) also left his wife Sita and his younger brother Lakshmana those who accompany him with their sacrifice at his adverse time. Because his 3rd, 4th and 7th house represents the younger brother, 4th represents happiness and 7th represents wife. Jataka was unable to overcome the effect of such malefic planets.
“The spritual Astrology teaches us that the saints and the seers, the wise and the mystic can rule their stars, the ordinary people obey them” (astrology – X Royed, P-50). Jataka (Lord Ram) was unable to rule his stars, so we can’t say him as an extra ordinary person. He unable to overcome his ‘Dhira Karma’ and he became an inhuman in nature for some times. The great poet William Shakespear what he has written is absolutely true.
“ It is the stars the stars above us
Govern our conditions”.
CASE NO.- 03.
In the shastra it is advice to all that not to kill the person who is not in war, who is only seeing the war, people those who are not participate in the war, innocent people, person who is in fears, whose arms has broken, who is in bare condition, who is sleeping or taking rest. The so-called world leaders did not follow these norms in the present war particularly during the time of 2nd World War. And one of them was Hitler the number one inhuman person.
In the horoscope of Hitler the 9th Lord Mercury is present in the 7th house along with 8th lord Venus, maraca Mars (malefic planet of this lagna Tula), Sun, and aspect by malefic planet Jupiter. The karmapati Moon present in the 3rd house the house of braveness along with the malefic planet Jupiter, the 3rd lord (the braveness) and 6th lord (the enemy, hostility karaka planet) and poisonous planet Ketu. The ascendant is aspect by malefic planet. Sun, Mars, Rahu. Not only that Rahu who is most inhuman karaka planet and responsible for inhuman character of any person and ungodly planet among the all planets present in the house of 9th position, the house of dharma, guru, charity, intuition. Therefore, native never be a religious minded person and also never be a humanist. Actually native killed so many innocent people during the time of 2nd World War and he was the most inhuman person in the world. Jupiter along with Ketu and Rahu in 9th house and retrograde of lagna lord along with warrior planets Mars, Sun and aspect of Saturn upon it leads to jataka as a generalissimo, villain, depravity and corrupt, detestable, vile in nature.
CASE NO. –04
The following horoscope is the renound world famous generalissimo who was the villain in the Ist World War – Mussolini. In this horoscope the 9th lord Moon is in 7th house exaltation along with the cruel planet Mars and malefic retrograde planet Saturn. 5th lord Jupiter is in the 8th house aspect by malefic Rahu. 9th house is aspect by Saturn (with its 3rd aspect). Ascendant is aspect by malefic Rahu and cruel planet Mars, which given anger and cruelty to the native. The aspect of Rahu upon Jupiter given power to do herm against the people, Again 12th and 8th lords Venus and Mercury in 9th house along with 10th lord Karmapati Sun, and the aspect of Saturn upon them give adverse results about the work of religious matter. The ‘Kalsharpa Yoga’ is also observed in this horoscope. The 4th house, which is the house of social works, is also aspect by Rahu. Social work is one kind of religious work. Therefore, native never be religious minded, not only that his arrogance, cruelty and non-religious nature insist him to do harms against the Human Beings and he was become the most inhuman person.
‘Love is the religion of hero and violence is the religion of terrorist, coward, villain. The main recognition of the man is that he is a creator’. But neither the Hitler nor the Mussolini was never be a creator but they are destructor, and inhuman in nature. And for that they were violated all human rights and abuse their power to profane humankind and for that they killed many people and through their violence and the whole world became restless.
In this connection the last discussion between the great humanists Nobel awarded Rabindranath Tagore and Mussolini at Rome on evening dtd. 13.6.1926 before left Rome by Tagore is relevant. Tagore’s views, “Material, wealth and power cannot make a country immortal, she must contribute something which is great and which is for every body, and which does not merely glorify her own self”. Mussolini did not replied and keeps silent because it was known to him that ‘Idealists and humanists are always think and express such.’ He was neither idealist not the humanist, so the advice and sermon from Tagore was meaningless to him. Tagore express his view in they way “Man is his fullness is not powerful but perfect.” Perhaps it was known to him (Tagore) that Mussolini will not accept and followed his suggestions. Yet, he performed his duty because he believed in the ideology that ‘If the people be hard of hearing, yet, hymn of truth must be utter and narrate’.
People says ‘Nah Papey Patipapo Sath’- You should never commit sin or took revenge against him who is against you, in moral or religious offence to do harm’. But it can never be say that it is an advice of a mad and this is called humanism. The implement of such theory in the life is very difficult and depends upon the nature of the person, which can be measured from his horoscope.
Person followed and implemented this theory in his personal life is obviously and humanist. Such persons are Lord Goutam Buddha, Jesus Christ, Cahitanya, Ramkrishna, Rabindranath Tagore and others. The horoscopes of them are as follows:
From the above discussion it can be concluded that the following points are the essential factors found in the horoscope of a humanist or in humanist.
1) A person must be inhuman if Rahu is in the 9th house, because 9th house is the house of dharma or religion. A non-religious person is always inhuman in nature and Rahu is not regious planet.
2) For humanist lagna lord must be good aspect with 9th lord.
3) Presence of Moon must be either in lagna or in the 7th house or it must be good aspect with lagna.
4) 5th lord must either aspect lagna or Moon or lagna lord.
5) Lagna lord may be in exaltation.
6) Jupiter must be either aspect lagna or Moon or lagna lord.
7) No malefic planet either present or aspect 9th and 5th house. (Exception in special case may be found with proper reason) i.e. Ketu is not a malefic planet when present in 9th house.
8) The Raj yoga karaka planet must be in exalteted in the horoscope.
9) Lagna lord, 5th lord, 9th lord may be exaltated.
10) The native must be non-religious and inhuman in nature if any debilitation planet present in the 9th house or the 9th lord is either in the 6th, 8th or 12th house. The nature of native must be miser, selfish, non-religious and inhuman.
11) If the 9th lord be weak and any debilitation planet is in the 9th house and any malefic planet is in lagna and in the 5th house or is in the7th house. If Jupiter may be aspect with Rahu or in the same house the native may be inhuman in nature and he/she do any evil work and must be cruel in nature and never be kind hearted.
The humanism of a great man is no doubt a debatable matter. We have discussed it from our present situation and from our own outlook. Actually socio-economic conditions, situation and history during that time (Huga) when the native was passing his/her lifetime are now not clear to us. Again, the ‘Bargabal’ of the planets, ‘Sayanadi Dadas Bhaba or all planets and ‘Dasa-Antardasha’ of the native are also an important to came to any conclusion and decision. So, the humanity of such great persons is obviously a debatable subject.
A person started to make ready a new passage or narrow lane for walking. Then there is enough persons seen who try to develop the lane to road and converted to street. And there is no deficient of man for waling on the road. Only I have tried to express my approach to the thinkers and request all to developed this new topic from the view point of Jyotish Shastra. Hope, my humble approach will appreciated by the thinkers of this subject.

According to ‘History’ the ideology of great man is continuing generation by generation through men. The great men have represented themselves through the history of men. This thought was symbolized as ‘Maha-Manab’ by Nobel awarded Rabindranath Tagore.
In the Gita it has been expressed that ‘ Dharma Sansthapthanathya Sambhabhami Jujey Jujey’ The violation of human rights-‘humanism’ has been observed from the very age old time, when man became civilize. During the time of ‘Treta’ Ramchandra, the great king of Ayodhya (who is now a days respect by the people) violated the humanism during the time of were between Bali and Sugriv . Next, in the ‘Dapara’, Lord Krishna who is also respected now a days, also violated the basic norms of humanism at the battlefield during the time ware of Mahabharata. The violation of humanism observed maximum during ‘Kali Jugha’, particularly during 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th century. In 19th century, the doctrine of humanism of French philosopher Auguste Comte was very popular throughout the world. In place of God, he places humanism. *1 The view about humanism by Comte is not point of our discussion. Our viewpoint is to discuss about the humanism of some great men (called ‘Maha-Manab’) and some world famous personality through their birth charts (horoscope) in light of Astrology. Although the people respect some, yet, all of them never are honored as a real humanist in true sense. Among them a few can be recognized as a humanist. Now the question raised why they are not humanist? What are the minimum criteria for a person that he may be recognized as a humanist? Now the fist questions arise - What is humanism?
The word ‘Humanism’ comes from ‘Latin’ world ‘Humanitas’, which means to search the perfection of one self. It always inspires to raise oneself, s strength.
About humanism S. Radhakrishnan expressed his views that “God is Supreme revolutionary. He is the master builder and so we are the servants of God, we must work for truth, for the truth which means the establishment of right relationships between man and man, community and community nation and nation.”*2
Human relationships are the mainspring of spiritual life. Man worships his God in all the true objects of man’s worship. Through love, man can understand others and realize the supreme in the heart of him.
Humanism related with the religion of man. About the Religion of Man - Prabhat Kumar Mukharjee express as his views in that way “We have heard Hindu’s religion, Muslim’s religion, Christian’s religion… … Generally, we define the ‘man’ in terms of cast or nationality - Brahman, Vaishya, Sudra – or blacksmith, potter, weaver and we know the nationality - as English, Russian, Japanese, Chinese, Generally people are habituated to this culture. Sometimes some great man, sages have come within us and hit on our such ignorance and have told about the universal man, who do not belong to any caste.”*3
The word ‘Religion’ comes from the Latin word ‘Religo’. It comes from religare (re-ligare = to bind back), i.e. who tightly bind together that is religion. In English ‘ligate’ means ‘tie up’. In Sanskrit ‘Dharma’ come from the world ‘Dhri’ and means, which grasp the whole.
The science does not mean the science of English, science of French, science of India; science is the science wherever it may be. In this way Dharma (religion) means man’s dharma or man’s religion. It never be the separate religion. If any special religion, which hits the man’s religion then it, must be clear that he is hindering the truth the untruth is functioning in intrigue, which is evil, and this is death. The religion of modern age is the ‘Religion of Man’, which called ‘Humanism’. *4
According to S. Radhakrishnan, “ Philosophy fails of its purpose and is unfaithful to its ideal if it assumes that particular religious beliefs should be accepted.” *4
Generally we called the religion as ‘Dharma’. ‘Dharma’ means perception’ or ‘perceptual realisation’. In other words, we can define it as ‘immediate awareness’ or ‘to see God face to face’. In West, philosophy is dependent on intellectual knowledge. But in East particularly in India, it is intuitive knowledge. This intuitive knowledge is one kind of modification of the intellectual knowledge.
Man’s philosophy is dependent upon his thinking of life and realization of ‘Universal Truth’. The truth is beauty and beauty is truth. Man is the worshiper of such truth. This truth has a universal picture. Therefore, ‘Inner Universal Truth’ is the man’s religion. Humanism is the religion of every man. Therefore, as a subject ‘Religioin of Man’ and ‘Humanism’ is more or less same, because religion of man is not a specific religion but it is based on humanism.
About the religion and humanism the great humanist Rebindranath Tagore express his views by given a nice example-“ Animal’s nature e.g., its livelihood is its religion. But in case of human beings, livelihood can never be the only his nature, humanity is his main characteristic. So ‘ Inner Universal Truth’ is man’s religion.”*5
Humanism is clearly revealed universality and sense of identify with all men, and revolt against all types of tyranny and injustice. Life is its fullness, in its exaltation of the human reason and the luminous quality of his faith and above all, in respect for the human personality is heeding towards completion.
Religion should never be based upon the Koran or the Puran, the Vedas or the Upanishad, the Bible or the Tripitaka, Granthasab or Gita, etc, it is on humanism. Religion of any person should be based on the man’s religion, not at the outside orbit of man. So religion should be centralizes on humanism and it must be root of man’s life. There are no higher religion than that of sympathy for all that lives. Love is the foundation of all religions.
Every person possesses a special something, which he calls ‘his religion’. A man’s religion does not consist of blind beliefs that obstruct our comprehension; rather, it is as man’s innermost truth, a creative force, a life-sense, greater than his materials sense.
Every man possesses a religious though. The main nature of the religion is non-material approach. Love, kindness, ahimsa all positive characteristics consist in the religion. Practically, religion is a universal power, which is related with finite and infinite, matter and consciousness. It is one kind of manifestation of soul, which is birth less, deathless and universal. There is no binding in the religion of man and humanism. Religion relates finite soul with the infinite soul and it washes out all the evils of main’s heart. That’s why it makes a man a ‘God man’.
Beauty and truth are related with religion and humanism. If we do not love the truth, then it is not possible for us to adopt it. We cannot bind the truth with any artificial binding. Ideal life is related with truthfulness and ‘Dharma’ is not beyond these characteristics. The idea of religion is not the same as like the traditional idea that possess by the common people. Human nature is the human religion. The real meaning of religion is the ‘nature’ or ‘characteristic’ of a thing. For example, the nature of fire is its heat and power of burning, the nature of water is to wet. In the same way, the nature of good religion is to do well to others and that of a bad religion is to do harm to others. The nature of selfishness is to express one’s love centering round oneself only, whereas the nature of benevolence is to express love for others.
About the humanism the famous Bengali poet Chandidas express his views in this way:
‘Sunoho Manush Bhai
Sabar Uporey Masush Satya
Tahar Uporey Nai.’
The theory of humanism is observed in every religion but some times the application on the society or the society or upon the ‘Human-Beings’ by powerful persons in their own way, which they demand the religion of that cast, society etc. But actually this is not the true religion this may be said as dogma. Rabindranath expresses his view is that way-‘…………The felling of man is not equal everywhere and in some where it is prevent and for that all man are till not recognized as a real man’. The Vaishnava and Baul, Sufi and Fakir, Sant strictly followed the rules of humanism. Of them there is no any sadhana except Baul in the human society in our world who strictly followed, obey and respect the humanism, and for that there is no conflict and clashed between the Baul and other people of different religions although there is a conflict and clashed between and among the other religions.
The inhumanity within a man arise when he thinks in his mind and draws a difference between worshiper and himself, and man and God, and ultimately man and man. Rabindranath express his views in the Manusher Dharma is this way-“A worshipper of God is no better than a beast if he worships such God whose entity is quite different from the entity of the worshipper; because such imagination of God leads the worshipper to get himself chained by narrow outlook of life. His own created God drive him out from his own entity.’’*6
In their songs, the Baul expresses their realization of God in the same way as sages in the ‘Upanishds’ did; Rabindranath expressed his cogitation in his Hibbert Lecture, ‘The Religion of Man’. In the typed manuscript of ‘The Religion of Man’, a few lines of the Baul song (in Bengali) were jotted down by his own handwriting where the main theory of humanism is hidden.
যেমন ভাবন তেমনি ভূবন
ভাবে ভবে মাখা মাখি ।
মানুষ নইলে কোথায় দাঁড়ায়,
অচেতনে সবই হারায়,
যখন মিলবে সাড়া তোর সে সাড়ায়,
বুঝবি তখন পাকাপাকি ।
“The world is as it is in our thought, the thought and existence are commingled. Everything would be lost in unconsciousness if may ware naught, and when response come to your own call you know the meaning of reality.”*7
The theory of humanism of Baul is also somewhat analogy with the philosophy, religion and humanism of Jainism.
In the Jain religion and philosophy, it is said that different persons old the views of the ‘Absolute Truth Theory’, from different aspects, but the deduction of each individual’s view carries some sort of truth. This very view of the philosophy of Jain religion is found to be in harmony with that of great humanist Rabindranath, where he states that he also does not view God as separate entity from that of him. “The lover seeks his own other self in his beloved.”* 8. Tagore carries this truth in his various writings. These are the components of identify in the philosophy, religion and humanism of Rabindranath. The difficulty lies in these circumstances, so it is how to present these spiritual cogitation of Tagore methodically.
By developing such theory day after day, year after year, how, why and when it has been stopped - a short answer of this question can be found from the jest of the close door discussions conference between the great humanist famous Scientist Albert Einstein and Noble Poet Rabindranath Tagore just after the Hibbert Lecture, which is as follows:
Tagore said, ‘When our universe is in harmony with man, the eternal, we know it as truth we fell it as beauty.’

A person in the world where he belongs to any cast and/or creed may be classified into two groups whether he is human or inhuman. Every man has it’s own religion. Such as Rabindranath has ‘Poet religion’, Ramkrishna has ‘Deb/Purahit religion’, Newton, Einstein have ‘Scientist religion’, Mussolini and Hitler have ‘Worrior religion, Chaitanya has ‘Vedantic religion’, Lord Krishna has ‘Political religion’. But they must be either human or inhuman in their character. So either humanity or inhumanity must be looked if we go through their horoscope.
The role of man in the society is different; he some times slows humanity and some times inhumanity in his short span in his life. For example, the great Empire Ashok in his life, at the early period he was a most inhuman person, but after the Kalinga War humanity developed in his mind and he become a great man. Opposite case also been seen in the so many persons mainly engaged in the different works particularly like politics and power. That also depends upon the dasha bhukti of the native. But as a whole when we go through the birth chart at a glance we can say that whether a person is human or inhuman.
“To killed the enemy is the religion of life, by overcoming this, man says, ‘to forgive the enemy’, which is unexpected. This is detrimental for the religion of life but enlistment of humanism.”*9

SOME BOUL SONGS UPON HUMANISM
HUMANISM OF SOME WORLD FAMOUS PERSONALITY
(A CRITICAL STUDY AND DISCUSSION FROM SOME HOROSCOPE IN LIGHT OF ASTROLOGY).
We will discuss the horoscope of some renowned world famous personalities and critically studies regarding their humanity.
CASE NO.- 01
Our dharmo shastra teaches us that during the time war, who is not in chariot and who is on contact with the earth, the opposite charioteer who is in the battlefield will never through his weapons to kill his opponent party or an opposer. But this was not happened in case of ware of Mahabharata where Lord Krishna advised, irritate and aggravate, insist Arjuna to thrown his weapons to killed Karna, when chariot of Karna was failed in the mud, and he was not in chariot and became perplexity and aghast and was trying to remove the wheel of chariot from the muddy soil. At that time Arjuna with the advice of Lord Krishna thrown his arms and weapons to killed Karna and Karna lost his life.
In our shastra it is advice to all of us that not to kill who are not participate in the war, which is in sorrow. Lord Krishna irritates Arjuna to killed Mahatma Vishma who left his arms in the battlefield. Not only that he was also adviced to killed Dronacharya, who was in sorrow hearing the news that his son Aswathama died in the battle field as decleared by Judhistir, that ‘Aswathama Hata Iti Gaja’ with the advice of Lord Krishna. Therefore, from our civic and commonsense we can never say that Lord Krishna follows the rules of humanism. And we put Lord Krishna in the group of inhuman persons. Now question arise why Lord Krishna did such? If we go through the horoscope we will observed that Rahu who is the most non-religious planet present in the 5th house aspect the 9th houses, the house of dharma (religion). Mars the 7th and 12th Lord present in the 9th house and aspect by 8th Lord Jupiter. In case of Vrisha (Taurus) langna Mars is the malefic planet and marak, and Mars is a warrior planet. Again, Jupiter as a malefic and marak planet aspect the 9th house is not good. Therefore, native participated in the war for dharma and himself not been a humanist . The 9th Lord who is the responsible for dharma is in exaltation is good but in 6th house is also bad. 6th house is the house of enemy injury and aspect by malefic, ill-boding, non-religious Rahu through it’s 12th aspect. The cruel nature of the native was developed due to the aspect of malefic Rahu upon ascendant and on mind karka planet Moon, who is also in the Lagna. Rahu is also aspect on the Lagna Lord, and the 9th and 10th lord (Karmapati) Saturn. Again, Rahu is also with intellect karka planet Merecuty, Mercury the 5th lord responsible for intuition (future vision). Again, Rahu aspect on Mars the worrier planet. Sun is aspect by cruel planet Mars. The presence of Saturn in the 6th house insist native to be cruel (in nature), diplomat and adapt in affectedness.
So, how such a person become a humanist whose 9th lord is affected by malefic planet Rahu and and 9th house is expected by the 8th in lord and 12th lord? Therefore, although Krishna now a day may be respected and popular, but he was never be a humanist because he was cruel in nature and violated all norms of humanism during the time of war of Mahabharata.
CASE NO. 02
In our dharma shastra it is advice us not to throw your arms and weapons to killed other who is in the battlefield not with you but with others.
In the Treta Yuga, Lord Ramchandra who was the 3rd person in the war between the Bali and his younger brother Sugriv , throw his arms to killed Bali which is not only the violation of the rules of war but also against the dharmashastra and humanism. So it indicates the inhumanity of Lord Ramchandra. What Ramchandra did was only for his wife Sita who was under Ravana at Lanka during that time. This type of work proves not only the selfishness of Ramchandra but also express the inhumanity of him.
If we go through the horoscope of Lord Ram, it can seen that although the horoscope is no doubt a good horoscope, yet, there is some lacuna which can never be deny. The lagna and lagna lord is affected by malefic planet 8th lord Saturn. The 7th aspect of Mars on lagna and lagna lord irritate the native and loss of religious mind and attitude, and native mind become war crime. The presence of Ketu, which is malefic planet present in the 9th house, is not good for a humanist, and native actually become irreligious minded of humanism. Astrologically actually native became an irreverent person in the eye of humanist. The aspect of Rahu in the 4th house (the house of social work the works for others) is not good. The aspect of Rahu upon 4th lord or Ketu with Venus is not good that when Venus which is also a representative of dharma along with poisonous planet Ketu hamper the religions character of the native and native became a irreverent person. The aspect of Saturn upon 9th lord Jupiter changes the character as irreligious. So, inhumanity found in the birth chart or Ramchandra.Again, he (Ram) also left his wife Sita and his younger brother Lakshmana those who accompany him with their sacrifice at his adverse time. Because his 3rd, 4th and 7th house represents the younger brother, 4th represents happiness and 7th represents wife. Jataka was unable to overcome the effect of such malefic planets.
“The spritual Astrology teaches us that the saints and the seers, the wise and the mystic can rule their stars, the ordinary people obey them” (astrology – X Royed, P-50). Jataka (Lord Ram) was unable to rule his stars, so we can’t say him as an extra ordinary person. He unable to overcome his ‘Dhira Karma’ and he became an inhuman in nature for some times. The great poet William Shakespear what he has written is absolutely true.
“ It is the stars the stars above us
Govern our conditions”.
CASE NO.- 03.
In the shastra it is advice to all that not to kill the person who is not in war, who is only seeing the war, people those who are not participate in the war, innocent people, person who is in fears, whose arms has broken, who is in bare condition, who is sleeping or taking rest. The so-called world leaders did not follow these norms in the present war particularly during the time of 2nd World War. And one of them was Hitler the number one inhuman person.
In the horoscope of Hitler the 9th Lord Mercury is present in the 7th house along with 8th lord Venus, maraca Mars (malefic planet of this lagna Tula), Sun, and aspect by malefic planet Jupiter. The karmapati Moon present in the 3rd house the house of braveness along with the malefic planet Jupiter, the 3rd lord (the braveness) and 6th lord (the enemy, hostility karaka planet) and poisonous planet Ketu. The ascendant is aspect by malefic planet. Sun, Mars, Rahu. Not only that Rahu who is most inhuman karaka planet and responsible for inhuman character of any person and ungodly planet among the all planets present in the house of 9th position, the house of dharma, guru, charity, intuition. Therefore, native never be a religious minded person and also never be a humanist. Actually native killed so many innocent people during the time of 2nd World War and he was the most inhuman person in the world. Jupiter along with Ketu and Rahu in 9th house and retrograde of lagna lord along with warrior planets Mars, Sun and aspect of Saturn upon it leads to jataka as a generalissimo, villain, depravity and corrupt, detestable, vile in nature.
CASE NO. –04
The following horoscope is the renound world famous generalissimo who was the villain in the Ist World War – Mussolini. In this horoscope the 9th lord Moon is in 7th house exaltation along with the cruel planet Mars and malefic retrograde planet Saturn. 5th lord Jupiter is in the 8th house aspect by malefic Rahu. 9th house is aspect by Saturn (with its 3rd aspect). Ascendant is aspect by malefic Rahu and cruel planet Mars, which given anger and cruelty to the native. The aspect of Rahu upon Jupiter given power to do herm against the people, Again 12th and 8th lords Venus and Mercury in 9th house along with 10th lord Karmapati Sun, and the aspect of Saturn upon them give adverse results about the work of religious matter. The ‘Kalsharpa Yoga’ is also observed in this horoscope. The 4th house, which is the house of social works, is also aspect by Rahu. Social work is one kind of religious work. Therefore, native never be religious minded, not only that his arrogance, cruelty and non-religious nature insist him to do harms against the Human Beings and he was become the most inhuman person.
‘Love is the religion of hero and violence is the religion of terrorist, coward, villain. The main recognition of the man is that he is a creator’. But neither the Hitler nor the Mussolini was never be a creator but they are destructor, and inhuman in nature. And for that they were violated all human rights and abuse their power to profane humankind and for that they killed many people and through their violence and the whole world became restless.
In this connection the last discussion between the great humanists Nobel awarded Rabindranath Tagore and Mussolini at Rome on evening dtd. 13.6.1926 before left Rome by Tagore is relevant. Tagore’s views, “Material, wealth and power cannot make a country immortal, she must contribute something which is great and which is for every body, and which does not merely glorify her own self”. Mussolini did not replied and keeps silent because it was known to him that ‘Idealists and humanists are always think and express such.’ He was neither idealist not the humanist, so the advice and sermon from Tagore was meaningless to him. Tagore express his view in they way “Man is his fullness is not powerful but perfect.” Perhaps it was known to him (Tagore) that Mussolini will not accept and followed his suggestions. Yet, he performed his duty because he believed in the ideology that ‘If the people be hard of hearing, yet, hymn of truth must be utter and narrate’.
People says ‘Nah Papey Patipapo Sath’- You should never commit sin or took revenge against him who is against you, in moral or religious offence to do harm’. But it can never be say that it is an advice of a mad and this is called humanism. The implement of such theory in the life is very difficult and depends upon the nature of the person, which can be measured from his horoscope.
Person followed and implemented this theory in his personal life is obviously and humanist. Such persons are Lord Goutam Buddha, Jesus Christ, Cahitanya, Ramkrishna, Rabindranath Tagore and others. The horoscopes of them are as follows:
From the above discussion it can be concluded that the following points are the essential factors found in the horoscope of a humanist or in humanist.
1) A person must be inhuman if Rahu is in the 9th house, because 9th house is the house of dharma or religion. A non-religious person is always inhuman in nature and Rahu is not regious planet.
2) For humanist lagna lord must be good aspect with 9th lord.
3) Presence of Moon must be either in lagna or in the 7th house or it must be good aspect with lagna.
4) 5th lord must either aspect lagna or Moon or lagna lord.
5) Lagna lord may be in exaltation.
6) Jupiter must be either aspect lagna or Moon or lagna lord.
7) No malefic planet either present or aspect 9th and 5th house. (Exception in special case may be found with proper reason) i.e. Ketu is not a malefic planet when present in 9th house.
8) The Raj yoga karaka planet must be in exalteted in the horoscope.
9) Lagna lord, 5th lord, 9th lord may be exaltated.
10) The native must be non-religious and inhuman in nature if any debilitation planet present in the 9th house or the 9th lord is either in the 6th, 8th or 12th house. The nature of native must be miser, selfish, non-religious and inhuman.
11) If the 9th lord be weak and any debilitation planet is in the 9th house and any malefic planet is in lagna and in the 5th house or is in the7th house. If Jupiter may be aspect with Rahu or in the same house the native may be inhuman in nature and he/she do any evil work and must be cruel in nature and never be kind hearted.
The humanism of a great man is no doubt a debatable matter. We have discussed it from our present situation and from our own outlook. Actually socio-economic conditions, situation and history during that time (Huga) when the native was passing his/her lifetime are now not clear to us. Again, the ‘Bargabal’ of the planets, ‘Sayanadi Dadas Bhaba or all planets and ‘Dasa-Antardasha’ of the native are also an important to came to any conclusion and decision. So, the humanity of such great persons is obviously a debatable subject.
A person started to make ready a new passage or narrow lane for walking. Then there is enough persons seen who try to develop the lane to road and converted to street. And there is no deficient of man for waling on the road. Only I have tried to express my approach to the thinkers and request all to developed this new topic from the view point of Jyotish Shastra. Hope, my humble approach will appreciated by the thinkers of this subject.
